Just an update on this matter, if anyone wants to know what the original problem was. Please scroll past the bold to the OP.

Bungie has officialy responded to my emails, saying exactly this "Thank you for the information. We have changed to all tube shipping for posters and prints."

& this

"We are getting things sorted out here, and will ship your other posters with better protection. You will get a replacement or refund for your damaged poster, please stand by."

So it's very, very good news indeed! Thanks Bungie!

Or whoever is in charge of packing and shipping items from the Bungie store. No, I'm not wondering when my order will be shipped. I have a little request. It's about your packing of prints and such.

You see, I received my "The Armory" print on Friday. And well, it's damaged. Pretty much ruined in shipment. And I believe it was because of shoddy packing. You only had 1 piece of cardboard on either side of the print to protect it, and both of the pieces of cardboard were facing vertically. Like this: (Except not torn up and such)

Vertical Cardboard photo

It is very easy to bend both pieces of cardboard when the inner structure is facing the same way. But, if the front was facing vertically, and the back would be facing horizontal like this:

Horizontel Cardboard photo

It would increase the strength dramatically. It would also help if you use a stronger cardboard. One with a higher crush rate test. I realize you guys already have the cardboard you previously bought (A little over 16x20) but just something to think about for the future. I also ordered one of the "Master Chief Concept Art prints". I'm writing this, because I'm really worried that it may get damaged too! I don't want that too happen. I suggest that you guys ship that print with 2 pieces of cardboard on either side (4 altogether). You should also have the pieces of cardboard running in opposite directions like I said earlier. I know, this will cost $1.00-$2.00 more to ship per poster.

But in the end, you will make guys like me allot happier. I still expect some sort of reimbursement for my damaged print. I expect better packing for a print of such musuem quality as "The Armory". I hope this message is read by somebody in the high order, before you guys ship the MC prints. As I'm very worried that they will get damaged as well.

This piece of artwork by Lorraine McLees deserves so much better:

My damaged print

Mine isn't a case like "Oh, he's the only one with damage". Look on Amazon. There are 2 other people already that received damaged prints. And that's only people that have submitted reviews, heck, you guys may have gotten several emails already from people about my same problem. I just want to get the word out.

Other peeved customers

Thank you Bungie for the countless hours of fun and your great games, but I hope my message will increase your awareness in the field of packing and shipping.

Case and point: don't worry about it. Girls start getting boobies pretty soon, and then you'll have plenty of other things to think about. Being an Inheritor is not a life goal.

D: I'm sorry to hear that. Is the print on card stock?

Yes, it is cardstock. Plus the colors are very heavy as well, so the 2 bends are very accentuated.

Anybody consider that it's going so slowly because we are all trying to access it and it's not even supposed to be public yet?

Also, if that is the case, it means it's also slowing down for the employee...he's probably going to just get up and go to Outback for a nice Bloomin Onion and we're gonna all be left sitting here wondering what the heck just happened to our mystery man

I wouldn't call it exactly ruined, but whatevs. Judging by the zoomed out picture, it doesn't look that bad or maybe I'm just blind. Also, I was looking at your pictures on that website you linked to. You like to collect promotional gaming stuff, don't you?

Yup, that's not the half of my collection though. I've been using a different image site recently. But for the life of me, I cannot remember what it's called :(. If you want to see my collection, shoot me a PM :).

And about the print, the damage is allot worse in person. You see, whenever cardstock is bent it leaves little crinkles around the bend (Which are hardly noticeable in the picture, but blinding in person) I will soon be posting more pictures of the damage.

BTW, you brought up a good point. I'm a collector, so I like my things to be perfect. Especially lithos and signed prints.

I <3 you too Bungie

Same problem with the swag bag posters. My bags were mostly posters and figurines. The posters were smashed and ripped to hell--and the figurine's boxes were crunched, creased, and smashed in on the edges.

Bungie: Great games, bad at packing products for shipping.

Subject: An IMPORTANT message to Bungie employees

The two figures I got in my swag bag had their bubbles pretty much destroyed. Makes selling them on eBay (Or keeping them in a collection) kind of difficult.

I'll live, but kind of dissapointed.

Maybe webmaster@bungie.com?
Or maybe PM Urk or Achronos?

Emailing the webmaster wouldn't do any good. I need some sort of immediate response (before they ship the MC prints).

I don't know, maybe in the end they were actually planning on packing the MC prints better. In a picture box maybe? Hopefully.

yeah, my On The Edge poster was damaged.
I was kinda disappointed.

Make choices, and don't look back.

It's unfortunate that some prints were damaged. It was USPS that damaged it during shipping though. My poster was a little bent and my signiture card was bent a little also. Hopefully this is a lesson learned if they ever decide to sell more things in the future.

blame the usps, how hard is it to keep 2 pieces of cardboard straight, I mean really?

also, to anyone complaining about condition of anything in a swag bag needs to quit complaining. many people would kill to get one of the bags no matter what was inside and it was cheap as hell.

also, OP, nice use of a glare effect to exaggerate the damage. Frame it and over time the slight creases will decrease, just as if they would have packaged them in tubes, the curl would decrease over time as well.

I don't people understand the urgency of the situation. You see 250 people ordered a $106 print recently (MC concept). There is no way I paid that much to receive a damaged print! The value is gone if it's damaged. I'm flat-put irate with Bungie's packing. Sure, it was partially the USPS fault. But it was more Bungie's fault. They need to mark the packages as "DO NOT BEND. All over, in red. Plus, they should use 2 pieces of cardboard on either side of the prints (4 altogther). Better yet, they should use an art shipping box (Like the ones Photographers use for shipping family photos, graduation prints and such). If my MC print is damaged, there will be a fight. Bungie needs to see this thread and the 3 emails I've sent them.

If anybody has received damages posters or prints, please email Bungie and tell them to ship there items better.

Hope your message gets across.
I wouldn't get too rattled up, there's not much you can do.

I would personally hate if the limited stock got damaged.

You know how I found my Swag Bag? Stuffed in my mailbox and the end that was hanging out being held by a rubber band to the top of the mailbox... Some packaging was a little bent (Just cases) and the packaging back was ripped where the person was trying to force it in.
