Chairleg Productions presents: 'Console Wars' and 'Games as Art?' (also on Halo Waypoint).

Pretender got it in one. It won't happen for 2 main reasons:

1) It won't happen for the same reason that we aren't allowed custom avatars in the main forums (infact, in chapters it could be even worse).

2) It would take quite some programming to get it working. Un-necessary amounts in my opinion.

So, at a guess, i'd say this appropriate quote would be in order. "Never going to happen." Though, you never know.

Yea it wouldnt be worth it cause members would complain that their avatar didnt carry over to the main forum. Then there would be bugs most likley and they would carry over. It would be a bing arguement.

Peple would also complain in a group that they didnt have a custom avatar.

As Gods Prophet has pointed out, it would most likely take quite a bit of programming to get such a function to work. Plus, I think I would find it a bit confusing to have the same person with two or more different avatars. I prefer it this way, where one person has the same avatar wherever he posts.

The groups and main forum use the same bit of forum software.

So assigning an avatar to someone in a group would also have to affect that person in the main forum.

Forum Mods in a Group should have Custom Avatars

I think what he meant to say is that bungie.net needs a few more Myth avatars from which to choose. :)

What I'm saying is that if you're a Forum Moderator in a Group, then you should be able to make Custom Avatars like Great_Pretender and Recon.

I don't think it's possible but I just wanted to see what you guys thought about it.

Phrog pilots, reckless and free. We would strap into our birds, set the engines on fire, and leave these earthly bonds with a chorus of WHOP WHOP WHOP. Akin to beating your chest and howling in defiance at the rest of the world.

Along with all the good points made already; the group mods can already get special titles to identify them, so an avatar isn't really necessary. The only reason for them to get avatars would really be for an ego boost. Isn't a special title reward enough for their contributions?

If you want forums that are highly customized, this is not a good place to have a group. However, if you are like me, and tired of how cluttered forums get with custom avatars, pets, pictures, and other added features, then this is the place for you. Therefore, I think custom avatars would be a detriment to the groups.

What was the last time there was an avatar update?

TGP has a lot of Myth avataras that should be in the selection.

Good point. More avatar choices would be appreciated.

If you want a custom avatar make your halo 2 Icon your avatar. If its cool enough to represent you in the game, why not here. Hile Zelda!

The mods dont get any more selctions in avatars than we do, as far as I know.

I do know however, they send in thier requested avatar to Achronos and he applys them to their Bungie.net account.

So, to get a custom avatar, you must get through Achronos...good luck with that.

Almost anything is possiable if you put enough work to it. It IS possiable for them to do that , the most likley wont though.

Well it probably won't be hard to program in the forums, just the fact that people are immature and, idiotic ruins the whole purpose of the idea.

The groups and main forum use the same bit of forum software.

So assigning an avatar to someone in a group would also have to affect that person in the main forum.

Which means every single member of bungie.net would create a group just so they could have it in the main forums. Not gonna happen. Like Archonos says: "Incase anyone is unsure, there will never be costum avatars, or smileys on this site." Trust me he said it, I'm just to lazy to find the post.
