You were totally and absolutely correct in every way, I don't know why we were arguing, you're so amazing I should never have doubted you.

Buck is voiced by Nathon Fillion.

There's simply no contest here.

Your one stop shop for all of 343's fabulous errors and ridiculous notions in the Halo lore.

A full trained Spartan-III or an ODST. You'd have to be mentally deficient to think an ODST could beat a Spartan.

They're both possibly the lamest characters in Halo and that's saying something.

I'm someone you knew, maybe even were friends with.....but from another time...another place.

The Mayans were the most epic trolls EVAR.

Carter would slam into him.

This, there's no way Carter could beat Captain Hammer.

Carter, shields or not, he can kick any marines @$$, remember in the Halo Helljumper, John 117 killed 3 ODST's and almost killed 2 more. Spartans beat marines every time. And Carter is a much better Commander than Buck. Carter is much more serious and Buck usually tries to soften things up. Buck is a good leader but Carter is still way better.

Carter, simply because he is a S-III. If he was closer to Buck's strength level, Carter would get pwned.

WUT?
Oh heck naw. Carter lost his entire squad. Buck's unit was split up, linked back up with each other, and didn't lose a single member. Which is better?

Obviously Carter. We have to assume that him, and Noble went on many other missions besides the ones that we have seen, all of which were much more high-risk than what the ODST went through. Noble was able to destroy a supercarrier. Canonically speaking it is obvious.

You guys really don't understand how bad-ass Buck is do you? Who cares about the training! You all seem to be Spartan fan-boys! "Carter wins because he is a Spartan." That is ridiculous! In Hasley's report, Buck's description is: "Truly, if he were any better, he'd be a Spartan." He also killed two Hunters by himself, without the Spartan upgrades. He is pulling off Spartan-like feats without the bonus armor! Also, I am sure his squad had more missions, too, if you are going to mention that about Carter. This, overall, is barely one-sided. You guys are just very bias! Nobody has given a very convincing argument to why Carter is better? Just because he is a Spartan 3. That is not a very good reason at all!

You don't have to be a Spartan fanboy to know full well Buck is out of his league in a fight with Carter.

While I'd say yes it shows spartans are stronger, that particular case is special in that neither side knew John's strength. So thus, it's not really solidly counting.

Anyway, tell me (in term of game campaigns) How is buck the better leader? Buck didn't even know where half his squad was for a chunk of the ODST campaign. Them surviving and linking back up doesn't make him a better leader.

Edit: lul at twinbucs for taking gameplay as solidly canon.

Them linking back up, then surviving a GIANT Covenant assault without Romeo and Mickey (who were piloting a phantom for evac), and protecting the engineer, Virgil, who possessed vital Covenant intel. They escaped while going up against similar odds that Spartans are sent into and survived only with Romeo wounded. And also, Spartan 3s are not too impressive in my book. They were created for their sheer numbers and sent on suicide missions most of the time. Carter wasn't a Headhunter, he was a normal Spartan 3. Also even if he didn't kill the two Hunters, obviously he still would have gone through some firefights on the way to save Dare.

Come back when 300 ODSTs arrive and fight for 7 straight days in a Covenant Refinery and kill, I don't know, a couple of thousand Elites, Grunts and Jackals.

Missions ODSTs wouldn't survive. We don't know about Carter's past, he may have been a Headhunter before Noble was created, we don't know.

For this argument of your's to make sense these have to be Spartan 3s. Are they? And also, I'm not saying all ODSTs are better than Spartan 3s. I'm just saying Buck's squad is almost as efficient as a Spartan squad.

Great squad, standing there while the Chieftain messes up Romeo.
