Subject: Halo 4: The Ark survives!

Ahh it's you. Been a while hasn't it? We WILL finish this.

Just you wait.

Guys, This hit me. The center of the ark has a huge slipspace portal. When The halo was firing, The portal the ark made Could have activatated And the near fired halo could have sliped through And Chief and arby didn't know. I kinda except this in halo 4. The flood On The Ark Survives And The ark is completly overrun by the flood. And since The ark has a portal, it can send it floodlings To other planets far away. I belive in h4 That there will be another battle of earth will happen.

Actualy In the middle of the Ark was a planet, which the Strato-Sentinals mined for ore to build the halos.

However, Cortana said that when the Halo shook itself to peices, it "Did a number on the Ark".
It might not nesseserily be distroyed.

Also, the Ak built the Halos, which distroyed the Flood. Why all of a sudden would it be sending Flood around the galaxy?

By the power of truth, I, while living, have conquered the universe.

No, the centre of the Ark has a planetoids used by the Sentinels for things like mining minerals. Spark states a premature firing will destroy the Ark as 04B tears itself apart and the debris collides with it.

To put it simply - lolno, u r dumd

In one of the Halo: Legends cartoons the Forerunners had a slipspace portal in space that sent the halo rings to various locations.

Because the Ark opened up a portal, aproximatly 100'000KM above itself.

The Ark can send the Halos though, but there is no possible way it could travel through it's own portal.

That slipspace portal was what the Dawn was flying into. Did you play the game?

I understand nothing because my life is a conspiracy.

I think it will be about destroying the Halo Rings and save the universe again.

Your one stop shop for all of 343's fabulous errors and ridiculous notions in the Halo lore.

For the sake of argument, it COULD... I mean...lets say your blowing bubbles with a big bubble wand (in this case, the portal)... You hold the wand above you (with a bubble prepped and ready to be blown) and stick your hand through it... Technically, your hand just went through the portal. I think it would be possible for the Ark to go through it's own portal. There's no reason for the portal to collapse or anything because the Ark would be sustaining it the entire time.

The portal really shouldn't be that much different than an ordinary slipspace bubble, which, Covenant and humans alike can generate and travel through with the very ship creating it. So for the Forerunner, who were MUCH more advanced, it should be no problem.

The thing is, Slips-stream-space and the Ark Portal are two completely different concepts. Let me explain.

Have you seen The Matrix Reloaded or Revolutions?
A slip space rupture is very similar to the Back doors in the movies.

A Person (a ship) has a Key (Slip space drive).
He can use the Key to open the Door (Slip space Rupture).
Once the Person has passed through the Door, the Door closes beind him (Rupture closes).

The Person is then able to walk down the Corridors (Slip-stream-space) untill he gets to the door he wants. He then uses the key again (Deactivates the Slipspace Drive) and passes through the door and back in to real space.

Pretty simple.

The Ark Portal however, is more like this.
Imagine there are two people, Mr Ark, and Mr Earth.
Both men are standing on either side of the Crand Canyon.
When the Portal is opened, a rope is thrown between them.

Mr Ark and Mr Earth are now holding a tight rope, allowing Mr Truth and Mr Cheif to walk from the Earth to the Ark. Yes?

Now, if Mr Halo shoots Mr Ark with a rocket, Mr Ark will drop the rope and no one will be able to pass.

So you can imagine that it would be impossible for Mr Ark to walk along the tight rope to Mr Earth (or anywhere) as no on will be holding the rope for him.

Simples :)

You were totally and absolutely correct in every way, I don't know why we were arguing, you're so amazing I should never have doubted you.

HEY.

HEY GUYS.

GET THIS.

AT THE LAST SECOND OF HALO 3, THE ARK ARMORLOCKED.

Huh? Is this a good theory? Well?

Astrogenesis 1That's... a really good analogy, actually. I'll remember that if I need to explain past Halsey's "crumpled paper" explanation.

I dunno about simple hehe...that seemed like a lot more complicated example than mine :P

I wouldn't say the Ark portal and slip space bubbles are "completely different." The Forerunner are highly advanced, and the Covenant based their own technology off of Forerunner tech, and then humans (very quickly) based some of their techology off of Covenant tech. It's all related.

It would make sense that the Forerunners being so far ahead with technology, would have mastered something as SIMPLE as the Ark being able to transport itself places. Generating a portal for other objects to travel through shouldn't be any different or more difficult to do than generating a portal (or slip space bubble) for ITSELF to travel through, like any Covenant or human ship can do...

humans didn't base slipspace travel off the covenant, they found it out by themselves.

Both the elites, prophets, and hunters used slipspace before the entered the covenant.

When you enter the Portal, you instantainiously arrive at the exit portal.

When you enter Slipspace, you have to travel inside slipspace. It is almost like you have dropped in to an alternative dimention.

The way Portals and Slipspace work are as far as I can see, completly different.

MY GOD!!! im Not SAYING that the ark itself goes through the portal, Im saying It can send flood pods to other planets. When the Flood came to earth, It was sent from high charity to see if it would come to earth. So That's what Gravemind could do with the ark. Send his FLOOD PODS to other planets.
