Subject: Who is the real lone wolf?

In the flavor of all these nascent "Six vs. MC" threads I want something cleared up: which one of them is more of a lone wolf? It seems like a simple answer but it's not.

Spartans II were trained to work alone. Solo. Spartans III were intended to use teamwork, which was a major cause for their being given armor abilities (each ability buttressed the team in a different way).

Now, the Chief prefers to work as a team. He is a natural leader and coordinator, contrary to his training. Noble Six, on the other hand, is a Lone Wolf-type, contrary to his training.

The Chief, contrary to his desires, ended up in a Lone Wolf situation. He was offset by the lack of allies to command after he left Reach and landed on Installation 04. Noble Six, a natural Lone Wolf despite his training, was forced to work in a team situation that didn't really fit him in the events of Reach.

So it's pretty complicated. The question is, Who fights better as a Lone Wolf?

To answer the question, we need to know a lot about what N6 was assigned to before the events of Reach. I think he was fighting innies, but I need more specifics.

Noble 6 before Halo Reach spent his time fighting rebels mostly. He did kill a few platoons if I remember correctly.

He made entire militia groups disappear and single-handedly took out entire terrorist orginizations.

Also, when does it say Spartan II's were every taught and raised to fight alone? The very first training exercises they did right after being kidnapped were teambased.

agreed. MC Originally like being a lone wolf; King of the Hill as it were, but that was when he was like 6. Spartan have always been taught to fight as a team. Noble team was given specail tactical training for lone wolf operations, how ever the blacklist training was only givin to two; Linda and Six. They were selected over other spartans and made to be hyperlethal. This was under the radar, no one really spoke of this at ONI; not even Halsey knew about what they were doing intill it after Linda had already been through it. The admiralty was trying to get other spartan's, especially teams like Blue and Noble. They even made a prepatory course for special operations, but the Covenant attacked reach before the Training could become mandatory. This is, of course, only speculation, as the above information was only leaked by this site before the release of Reach, and was in segments on several different pieces.

The Rookie. Just, Saiyan. He spent many hours alone in a occupied city in a stormy night.
