But that was back in the days.
Are you suggesting that the cannon is to change over time? Is that not a contradiction?

Now Chief's a badass. But Noble Six was a badass from the start. So Elite minors shouldn't even be a problem for him. The Lone Wolf cutscene depicts someone who can handle multiple Elites with no problem.
Unless you are suggesting that we lay dawn the cannon for this one too, I'd have to disagree with you. The Master Chief was specifically selected off of his planet to become a spartan because he was the most badass child that Halsey could find. (I believe it was her, at least.) Thus, chief was arguably badass before noble six. Not to mention, Spartan IIs have a physical advantage to the Spartan IIIs. They had to rely on their technological advancements in the books, even then were ripped apart by mere sentinels. (Ghosts of Onyx for reference.)
Tying everything back to Elites, they are most powerful, and have obvious alterations throughout the series. Would you argue that they are better looking in Halo 2, or not?
EDIT: Quote failure.Alright, I concede. You know more about Halo canon than I do. =( I forgot about Chief's past and eventual induction, damn it! I'm a gameplay person, not a canon expert. I always forget that.
But I still think Reach was a huge departure in Elite depiction, both combat and graphically.
Anyways, I think 2 and CE Elites are about the same and 3 comes in second place.
