Just wondering what's everyone's most memorable mission/level played?

Relax. I'd rather not piss this thing off.

-Master Chief

Assault and ControlRoom is one of those maps you will remember for quite sometime.

"Die? Didn't you know? Spartans never die." - Kurt-051's last words.

Memorable? Halo

Most played? AotCR

Halo was for me. From playing Marathon and going to Combat Evolved, I was pleased with the upgrades initially, but much more so with this mission. This is because in Marathon, you got new information and a sense of new environments through reading terminals on the walls. After an epic get away from a similarly bland and sterile ship environment such as the UESC Marathon was in comparison to the UNSC Pillar of Autumn, opening up into a giant new world really amazed me.

It was like waking in wonder, right out of the womb. In this case, I was exploring a stupendous leap of development that Bungie created. It was as powerful emotionally for me as the first atomic weapons were during the second world war on Earth. I love all of the missions, but this is why Halo was my favorite, as well as most memorable.

Lets Go Bullfrogs!

i was always a big fan of the silent cartographer. the part where you first land on the beach and raise hell against the covie. good times

Halo was the most memorable. It seems so huge when you first exit the lifepod and then just gets bigger and bigger as you work your way to affect all the rescues. If you drive around a little you realize that it's not as big as you first thought. Just very, very clever use of level design by Bungie.

My favorite mission has to be Truth and Reconciliation. Belly of the Beast was evil genius.

Doc: "i'm a pacifist"
Caboose: "your a thing that babies suck on?"
Tucker: "no dude, that's a pedephile"
Church: "tucker, i think he means a pacifier"

Crap, every level but The Library to be honest, and even that level was solid. I guess the biggest standout for me had to be Two Betrayals. When you walk out to that large ice field to see the Flood attacking the Covenant, I was amazed.

Two betrayals.

For please, guys. Tell me there's anything better. All out four-way war, shotgunning Flood...every available weapon in the game...in the immortal words of Frank Booth, "This...is...IT."

I know right? Two Betrayals is the best.

Spartans never die... they just revert to last checkpoint.

Actually, I find that I'm more invincible without pants, which is why I am not wearing any at the moment.

The Pillar of Autumn is for me.

The Library. I don't know what the hell to do at the library so I remember it for being the worst level.

The finale took me the longest to beat due to the timed warthog run. In fact, that's why I put down Halo 3 just before beating the campaign. Thus, the Maw is the mission I remember the most.

Hands down Silent Cartographer. Although I enjoyed driving through an exploding Pillar of Autumn

  • 07.13.2011 10:09 PM PDT

Gotta be a tie with AotCR and The Library.

Frog blast the ventcore!

Definetely Halo, it was just so open. It was nothing like these tiny linear levels we have in most games nowadays. It was also great fun to drive the warthog around for the entire level across big valleys and canyons full of greenery and mysterious structures. Oh, and having the sniper rifle for most of the level and having all those marine troops to back you up, and defending them firefight style. :)
