Are the mods more 'forceful' towards people who post in The Flood, when regarding their bans?

I've noticed in my time on Bungie.net, that there could almost be a strong correlation between posting in the Flood and getting banned. That, and the bans seem to be worse if the offense was done on that forum.

I made a parody thread in The Flood at one stage and got perma'd, and did the same thing in the Reach forum and got a 3 day ban.

Is there a reason for this? Do they specifically clamp down towards the posters in The Flood so the forum doesn't get too out of hand?

Just curious.

To each their own.

In a time long past, the armies of the dark came again to the lands of men. Their leaders became known as the fallen lords, and their terrible sorcery was without equal in the west.
In 30 years they reduced the civilized nations into carrion and ash. Until the free city of Madrigal alone defined them. An army gathered there, and a desperate battle was joined against the fallen
Heros were born in the fire and bloodshed of the wars which followed and their names and deeds will never be forgotten

I wouldn't say you got a perma ban, mods might get you for ban evasion.

What are we supposed to be discussing here?

"Nothing in the 'Verse can stop me."

I'd say yes. The Reach forum is the forums that is most likely to misbehave and as such it's punished more harshly as an example.

If you have two kids and one is constantly causing trouble you will constantly be punishing that child more and more. As for a good child you want them to learn and you don't treat them like this is a common thing. If that all makes sense.

Personally, mods work try to work on a case to case basis but in my opinion punishments for similar crimes should be dealt with more harshly in the Flood. A thread/post is more likely to escalate there and cause more issue.

I'm not saying that all cases should be taken with such bias in the Flood but with some it couldn't hurt. Either or the ones at fault are being punished.

I have seen people get permas for saying they have a perma'ed account on the forums.

For ban evasion.

No, the ban was on this account. I appealed to Achronos.

But this is off topic.

I wouldn't be as harsh on the Flood as I would be in here. The Flood works in a completely different way to this forum, and the people in the Flood are completely different to the people who frequent this forum.

Forum specific moderators would work wonders, imo.

I've never been banned for ban evasion and my countless alts couldn't be any more obvious. I've also mentioned my double permban on my main plenty of times too.
0 Ban evasion bans.

I doubt mods care about ban evasion tbh.
It's more the automated ban from the Soul for ban evasion you have to be careful on.

The flood happens to be spam. That contradicts all of the other forum's rules if you had not noticed. Thus, I would have to say yes, it would make sense why punishment would be harsher.

Most people just re-set their IPs or use a proxy.

Either way it is unwise to evade a ban becuase if someone figures it out, you get a longer ban.

Please elaborate.

The Flood is an off-topic forum. Spam is still against the rules there.

You do realize the ban isn't an IP ban... right?

I am told the soul can detect when a same IP is used for another account.

But, I really don't know.

Relax. I'd rather not piss this thing off.

The offtopic section should be motintered only if theres a serious infraction in the code of conduct not a simple question even though private messaging that moderator would be a simpler solution.

What moderator?

Wait. You're not talking about the bans I mentioned in the OP are you? They were ages ago. I only mentioned them so I'd have some basis to my claims.

I hate you unless I'm drunk.

Generally speaking, most threads that are created in the Flood that the user knows it'll get locked/banned, they don't use their 'main' account and post on an alt.

Generally speaking, most users know the rules, they just choose to not follow them.

First offense... Haha. I think the mod was having a bad day..

Though my account was like 8 months old and it was really my first time posting a lot. Just Another Fan probably mistook it for an alt.
