Yax is a shining beacon in these dark times. You should all strive to be more like Yax.

First offense...
Wow.

Though my account was like 8 months old and it was really my first time posting a lot. Just Another Fan probably mistook it for an alt.Still, I bet a lot of new guys are swept up in the moment (mass parody threads) before they fully understand the site/rules and get permanent bans for it.

Oh well, looks like they can always appeal them.

Yeah, I guess. To be frank though, [I'd like to think] getting that permaban actually helped me to be more mature on the forums.

Generally speaking, most threads that are created in the Flood that the user knows it'll get locked/banned, they don't use their 'main' account and post on an alt.

Generally speaking, most users know the rules, they just choose to not follow them.

Yes okay, but who's to actually say that the OP of a thread is an alt, rather than someone who is new to the site?

Punishments need to be more universal between each forum.

We will know soon enough, but it will require thought. Deep thought. Mendicant Bias must be found. The Mantle will soon follow.

I wouldn't say you got a perma ban, mods might get you for ban evasion.

Oops. I forgot to add on this account.

I have seen people get permas for saying they have a perma'ed account on the forums.

For ban evasion.

No, the ban was on this account. I appealed to Achronos.

But this is off topic.

That's rare... Very rare...

Depends on the moderator and what they feel like, remember the rules - you have no rights. play nice.

Remember kids: when Uncle Delta tells you he has sweeties, he isn't lying.

Now get in the van.

The Black Chapter

I post nearly exclusively on The Flood yet one of my only bans of the last few years came from this forum.
Some Mods spend a lot of time in the Flood so I'd argue they're less likely to be anywhere near as harsh as someone who never gets in the Flood.
It certainly demands a certain amount of familiarisation to moderate it properly. Some of the offences committed do deserve longer ban terms than other forums simply due to the spam/troll/off-topic nature of the place.

I think the Mods are more "ban happy" when it comes to the Flood. Mostly because that seems to be the forum where a spam or parody outbreak will lead everyone who posted banned, not just the OPs.

I'll say I agree with that, but its pretty hard to be very active on the forums and not receive any warnings or bans. Because "spam" can be listed as anything...

$.50 in store credit.

That very well could be true. But i think it actually depends more on the individual member. If someone is a troll, they're more likely to hang out in popular forums with new members like Reach and The Flood. The location might be related to the reason theyre banned, but not the actual reason itself.
