The beta is super awesome. RogueAssassin27 is now the person who got my Totodile's nickname. Hoo-hah! Relevant.inb4lock

I mean, what if you want a different audience to talk it with outside of the intended group? Is there really any harm with that? Why need for banning/locking?

Now selling HHDDVVDDBVDs. HD DVDs, but with better marketing.

If the thread follows the forum rules, sure.

Well, here we are. I guess that it was destined to come to this.

Something tells me this is about the copy-paste-lock response to "coup threads".

Yes?

cars, girls & cake all day everyday

Coup sucks.

It's a well-known fact that Coup sucks, and that discussion on scripts should go into the script thread, or Coup discussion in the Coup group.

Edit: I love how the mods changed my title to "Doesn't Like Coup" and changed my message line to "Send hateful message". Really mature, guys.

There's a rather sizable group dedicated to coup. Also, everyone who has coup pretty much has to know about the group to download the script.

Then let's talk about that.

Here's my copy-paste message when I close such a thread.

Coup has a Group. Please discuss anything and everything regarding Coup there.

If you chose to alter your Bungie.Net experience, or that of others, the group is where you can talk about those alterations. Not the public forums.

This is not a group advertisement, this is not a group recommendation, this is letting you know that this discussion is not relevant on the public forums, is about to be locked, and I am being a nice guy by giving you a link where you SHOULD be having this conversation.

I am under the impression that it explains the reason(s) that "rate my coup", "imagine you're in bed with the coup above you" and "why does everyone but me have stupid/ugly coups?" are not appropriate for open forum discussion.

People who have the script are in that group. People who can talk about it are there. Coup is like having custom cars. No problem, but you don't start a car show in a mall parking lot when the property owner and mall customers didn't invite you. You're welcome to park, shop and give thumbs up to other afficianados, but it's not your lot. If someone has a coup you like, PM them. If you want to have a contest, head off to your club's hangout. Don't interrupt other conversations or block traffic.

Okay then, fair enough. I see what you mean how it is irrelevant to off-topic forums. But what about pony threads? Do they even lock those or do those pass?

Personally?

If I look in one or get a report and it is flamebaiting or a mutual molotov cocktail party, then it's closed and serious offenders are banned/warned for not "playing nice".

If it is someone actually talking about how they actually like the cartoon or honestly don't understand how others enjoy it? That is a valid discussion about a demographic-relevant topic and I let it go.

I rarely see the question being asked 'Why do you like such and such'. More often than not, it's more akin to 'how can you enjoy something that I find so idiotic?'.

Not sure if that's an issue at all, but it's how I see such threads in the flood.

Case and point: don't worry about it. Girls start getting boobies pretty soon, and then you'll have plenty of other things to think about. Being an Inheritor is not a life goal.

Dang it Recon, I clicked reply on your double post right when you deleted it. >.< Sent me to an error page.

What I was going to say:
Why would anyone even bother discussing coup in The Flood, if they have coup, then they most undoubtedly know about the group. And all the threads I've seen posted in the coup thread are actually more friendly conversations than in The Flood. The only reasoning I can think of for people posting in The Flood about coup is to incite flame wars or to get a hot topic.

I'm thinking Recon is a closet Pony lover.
