Hanger one I just shredded with the SMGs until ammo was out and I just threw 'nades like a boss while BRing.

My experience playing Cairo Station on Legendary

I don't understand how people can ridicule ODST. Calling "Not a Halo game" is like calling Reach "A spark of genius". Reach is good, but the cannon of the series was warped and twisted to make it work, rather than fitting it in appropriately.

ODST is a nice side story, and for Halo 2 fans it's a great way to see what happened when you, the Master Chief, left while chasing Regret.

agreed i enjoy all of the halo series and to think that people are saying all that stuff about odst is sad i dont know any one who can make a game like odst in under a year and immediatley send out beta codes for reach it is just amazing

Totally agree.

The campaign is something any Halo 2 fan would've enjoyed. It basically was Halo 2's side story.

Firefight was perfect. I don't know if it was the maps or just the gameplay in general, but it is so much better than Reach. Bungie ruined it in Reach.

Great characters + Great soundtrack + Great campaign = Epic game

Oregon is the best! YELL-O!!!!! Can't Fly With US!!!

I persoanlly liked this game, but I do see why people get pissed at it for "not being Halo." It is a different pace from what the Halo trilogy is, doesn't mean it is a bad game.

The title of this thread says it all.

Damn straight, it's much better than reach, ODST FF is as well.

I loved ODST. The only issue I had with it was its short campaign. I wanted to play as the rookie more than what the provided us! >.<

i AGREE to me ODST is the best halo your not a of course walking tank the silenced weapons are SO COOL and work like COD's silenced guns halo reach might have cooler styled snipers but i like how you cant jump as high but my ONLY problems i have with ODST is that there's no battle rifles AND THE ONLY bad part of this game is...no firefight matchmaking XD i havent played a online game yet and ive had it for awhile

When I brought home ODST and played it for the first time I wasn't impressed. It wasn't until after reading several Halo books including the most recent book Halo Glasslands that I actually realized what a timeless novelty this game was. After reading Glassland I wanted to know more about ODST's and wanted more of an ODST landing boots in the mud from orbit or clandestine style Halo experience. I did the only thing I could think of. I went back and played through every ODST mission once more on Heroic for fun. I am now proud to say I finally get it. Others that "get it" about the ODST's uderstand what I'm talking about. For all the possibilities that Halo 4 now offers after gaining some insight after reading Glasslands, I expect to see much more from an ODST's point of view in the future, side by side with Spartan 2's and 3's. The possibility of actually playing as a spartan side by side with ODST's in game or vice versa in future game titles in the new Halo Trilogy is exciting. No spoilers but for all those excited about ODST's I reccommend reading Halo Glasslands ASAP!

ODST may be my favorite Halo game. Because you feel much more involved, you want to hide from the enemies, you know they are dangerous, and the music, knowing that everyone in the city is dead.... You genuinely feel sad...

But at the other side of the Spectrum, Lost Platoon is one of the funnest thing in halo, ever :P

I think the best thing about it is that, like Halo CE, the enemies feel alien again, you feel like you are fighting terrible creatures from another world.

Only thing i hated was the lack of human weapons in FF, so in this case reach wins that.

I agree with this one-hundred percent. The thing that's sad...Not many people will see this, which is a damn shame.

I'm glad this got on the pinned topics and I was proven wrong. Haha. It deserves to be here.

ODST was a great addition to the Halo franchise and story. Not worth $60 when it came out... more like $40.

Overall I give ODST 8/10

I definitely agree with you. One thing that I don't like about Reach that I love about ODST is that the Covenant speak English.

It makes for a great time Especially with the IWHBYD skull on.

I don't agree with ODST being the pinnacle of or as a 'good' Halo as the op suggests.

In contrast to other Halos, it totally lacked the 'epic' nature of all the battles MC/Arbiter faced.

The game was so slow paced.

The music, meh. I hate jazz. Too much synth sound too.
(no offense Marty)

The story line of Rookie, no one really cared about him. No voice - no personality - no hero.

Firefight with friends was an exercise in patience due to excessive lag for all but the host.

No MM = no longevity.
Once you got the achievements or Recon it had no replay value aside from those who did seem to gravitate toward this one for some reason.

To each his own, but favoring ODST to Halo 3 or any other with MM, you're going to be in the vast minority of Halo players.

The story of Halo 3 ODST was rather dissapointing. The whole time you're looking for Dare and that's pretty much it. Then the whole plot twists when you find the pink Engineer, which was pretty pathetic. Also, while playing the campaign it felt like more of a chore than having fun like I did with previous Halo games.

It lacked epic battles that previous Halo games had before. The only good epic battle was on top of the Skyscraper with all the Phantoms coming at you. The other battles were pretty slow paced and not that exciting.

People here are saying that the Mombasa Streets level was a good idea, when in reality it wasn't. I know it's a free roam level but most of the city is copy-pasted in alot of areas. When I play a game with a free roam environment, I expect it to not be copy-pasted in almost EVERY location.

To top it all off, this game was only important to me because of the Halo 3 Multiplayer Disc and that's about it. This game is dead last when it comes to Halo campaign, next to Reach.

I can only really agree with the Reach section. Though Bungie may have "Improved" the already existing Halo concepts like Forge and Theatre, but there was nothing new to offer. I could go on a rant, but this isn't the forum.

I enjoyed the step back from the epic Halo standard. I understand why you don't find it as excited as the others. Perhaps my interest in detective-type exploration had an impact on my fondness towards the game. Thanks for backing up your opinion!

before i investigated it i heard the tenor of folks comments about odst and it tainted my perspective.
i was not until i played and beat it on SLASO that i see why.
very few folks can beat it.
the added aspect of having to not only stay alive but make sure the engineer stays alive was an added twist that separates the men from the boys.
