So the Forrunners created the Halos to elimiate the flood's food supply, which they did. So if the flood would starve and die off, then how were they still alive on Installation 04?

"I may not be perfect, but always been true."

Those specimens were kept in special installations, like the one in cold storage that is inside a tube with liquid inside.

So then the Forerunners plan was useless, seeing how one spore can destroy a whole race.

The point was to make the flood useless by killing everything and having numerous stations in the galaxy look for a cure.

Anicient humans help spred the flood by using a primitive form of the substance, to which evolved in a species that the prophets and ancient humans favored as pets. It evolved over a long period of time and became a retro virus, then evolved into a dumb version of the flood, and then after the extension of anienct man at the hands of the forerunners, thanks to the betrayl of the prophets. The flood soon attack forerunners and evolved to match their intellect. However, the human had made a vaccine, designed to inhabbit a host and when the host was inffected with the flood, the vaccine would act like a retro virus and kill the now evolved form of the virus.

In other words; a cure was found, but they never used it...not entirely sure why, probably erogence, or a desire to create something more potient and less costly...I'm guessing they lost the vaccine or the flood became immune....either way...brute force is what they used for a long time before the halo rings were the only thing left...

Ancient Humanity destroyed the cure when the Forerunners attacked them.

??? The cure worked. They switched around a few genes for the flood disease and infected 2/3's of all the Humans remaining. These Humans that were infected with the modified Flood genes ended up infecting the Flood and killing them. They ended up pushing the Flood outside the galaxy before the Forerunners destroyed the Humans.

Welcome to bungie, you have no rights. play nice!
CLICK!

No, you're making stuff up: The human leaders decided to take a third of the population and genetically alter them by inserting genes designed to fight Flood biomass and destroy the Flood gene imprints. They then took this third of the human population and "fed" them to the Flood. The new genes aggressively killed off Flood biomatter and destroyed the Flood until the few that survived were forced to escape.

Edit: GO READ THE BOOK AGAIN!

So many of you are so wrong!
