But you were dead a thousand times. Hopeless encounters successfully won. A man long dead, grafted to machines your builders did not understand. You follow the path, fitting into an infinite pattern. Yours to manipulate, to destroy and rebuild.

Now, in the quantum moment before the closure, when all become one. One moment left. One point of space and time.

I know who you are.

You are destiny.

Master Chief shouldn't be in Halo 4. It completely ruins the finality in the ending of Halo 3, which had an amazing ending but it's going to be pretty null now.

Vengeance only leads to an ongoing cycle of hatred.

Of course. Let's continue Halo without the person that everybody is curious to see what happened to.

How does it ruin the ending of Halo 3?

You can clearly see the "Legendary Planet" at the end, so it's obvious that the Chief will return in Halo 4.

Hell, even Bungie wanted to make Halo 4 before they decided to ruin the cano... make Halo Reach.

The ending isn't ruined? What?

Well, you should stop worrying. He's going to be in Halo 4.

The blue ones stick.

Then who would star in the game? Pvt. Jenkins?

quod te non occidit, te fortiorem faciet

Halo 4 without the MC ?
I can't even imagine about what that Halo would be... It would be more logical to say that there shouldn't be a Halo 4 in that case, all the numbered Halo games need the MC in it.

The ending of Halo 3 was purposely left open-ended for debate, in order to introduce a sequel - Halo 4. Sure, John had defeated the Covenant and Flood, but Halo is greater than just those two foes - just as Star Wars is greater than the Trade Federation or the Galactic Empire.

“We are the Mirratord. We strike with speed and stealth. Our enemies will not see their deaths. They will not know their fate. In darkness, we will see light. In light, we will see darkness. No matter the location, we will see victory. If we fail, no one will know. Like a ghost, our presence is a mystery. For the honor of the mirratord" join the Mirratord

The announcement of Halo 4 would have been better if it had happen in 2009

Hey, if Frank O'Connor didn't leave they would have made Halo 4.

It's funny because MC was in both ODST and Reach. You could see the ship that MC was on following the big covie ship that was going to jump in lightspeed something and MC's ship followed, and in Reach you could see him if you beat the last level on legenday i think.

I started up the heated debate on whether the SPARTAN-II in the cryo tube near the end of Reach is really Linda.
I created the Moa XING avatar pic.
Also I earned the All Star nameplate with this submission to Week 14 All Stars http://www.bungie.net/images/News/Inline11/bwu_0415/art/likea boss.jpg

Yes guys, I've seen the ending; I realize they probably had that planned from the beginning.

What i'm saying is, I think Master Chief's fate would've been better off up to your imagination and open to interpretation.

Without Master Chief in Halo 4, alot of fans would be tired of waiting for his return. Thus Halo 4 fills the gap to continue the trilogy and we get a new Halo game to play. Let's not forget that 343 is taking over. That's alot of unpredictability for the next addition.

  • 07.13.2011 5:08 PM PDT

Yes, 343i will intentionally mislead everyone by showing the Chief in the Halo 4 teaser only for the game to focus on the Arbiter or someone else. What a great plan.
