tl;dr, supply one or I won't read, and putting in a fake one just pissed me off.
Yes, I mad.
Kidding aside, (Although fake tl;dr's does piss me off and I usually don't bother reading ridiculously long topics that contain paragraphs that are mostly one sentance long), if a OP has the time to make a nice 1000+ character speech detailing his points then the least he could do is make a quick summary at the beginning or end for people who are interested in the topic and know enough about it already to discuss it, can discuss it.
And putting in a fake tl;dr doesn't help discussion, it rather pisses off the people who are interested in the topic but don't want to read the commonly useless wall of text put up by the OP, I mean tl;dr posts don't help but they're roughly as harmful to the topic's traffic and discussion as a lack of a tl;dr or a fake one.
Ah, U mad? is annoying, but I'm not sure people should get banned over it.
To be honest it looks like this thread is just you trying to justify that threads don't need a tl;dr and the people in it should just have to read the wall of crap put up by the OP.
Which isn't true, you know how games are pitched to publishers? A sorta, game plan, is sent over. You know what happens to long game plans without a bullet point summary/tl;dr?
They get thrown in the trash.
Long threads SHOULD have a tl;dr, or they should be buried, if the OP doesn't put in the effort to put in a short summary in their posts that consist of hours of writing then they deserve spam.
