Subject: U mad bro? And Tl;dr should be bannable offenses

The bible is the best book Ever!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I AM A PROUD CHRISTIAN. HALO IS AWESOME BUT GOD IS MUCH BETTER!!!!!!!!
Did you knew that JESUSdied for you?

...Or at least they should be censored with blam!

While my proposal may sound controversial. I would like to remind you that the purpose of this forums is to have intelligent and civilisised discussions regarding bungie studios.

The current rampant trolling and spamming arent something that should be tolerated but something that must be fought against. Common doesn't equal good.

Umad bro? And Tl;Dr are not just spam that doesn't add nothing discussions and bumps threads that might not deserve it. It does a far worse damage. It discourages original thinking

As many if you know many forums specially reach and the flood are almost a bad copy of 4chan.

Author of long threads, some even spend hours researching or expressing well investigated and written posts.Posts that are ruined by this kind of responses. From infornative posts that took a lot if time to be made, to well analysed opinions on a topic.

I strongly belief that is not fair for the people that make an effort to create valuable posts to be spitted on the face by this kind of responses.Tl;Dr

The possibility of an user stating their opinions is less likely to to the less tan positive opinion they receive.

They have  evolved on this site beyond an annoying meme to a verbal tic. Tl:DR  when the reader didn't cared to read the post at all.

While Umad? Is used as blatant trolling towards someone that might have a different opinion/frustrating experience just to annoy.Intelligent discussion should be a priority over annoying "for the lulz". The former being of more value.

Post are made to be read and these kind of post give a total disrespect to those that write the .Authors are so scared that some posts have a TL;Dr "version" on their posts. Tl;dr is even used for posts that are longer than 3 lines of text.

In consequence intelligent posts are discouraged with this kind of behavior. Which is the antithesis of this forums ver reason of existing.

User shouldn't adapt to annoying Memes. Memes should adapt and respect respectable users.

For this reasons as well as many others I didn't mention, but I am sure you are  aware of this posts should be either censored or a bannable offense. If tolerated this gives the impression to old and new users alike that trolling, spaming the forums and being a jerk is "ok".

This would bd a good start to fight the rampant telling this forums are victim of.

Please Discuss and state your opinion.

Tl;Dr ?This post is not for you

cars, girls & cake all day everyday

Well couldn't I waltz into a thread with a monocle and top hat and go,

Good sir, I do believe that one or more previously stated comments during this discussion has offended and/or angered you, and it is with blatant curiosity that I would like for you to confirm that this notion is factual

and it would mean the same exact thing...?

...Or better yet not posting spam/ trolling at all?.

However that kind of post does encourage intelligent discussion further. As it seems the person actually took cared on it's response. That's why they do not mean in fact the same thing even while the substance of the messag is the same.

But what if that line was an copypasta unknown to the OP...? Now you think they took effort into typing it up when they really didn't.

I say as long as they're used in the right context in a way that can actually provoke more discussion (even if it's potentially bad) those lines are OK.

replying to spam is spam...?

Just going to say anything can be labeled as spam, and we have no rights on this forum. In other words, the Ninja's can ban you for what ever they want!

The TL;DR isn't bad. Although 0/10 and UmadBro are just someone replying to a troll thread or an attempt at trolling. Since users have been banned for trolling, I bet you could get banned for those comments.

I do believe it's been a rule on this site for some time. You shouldn't reply to troll threads, if you suspect they are as such.

You can create hypothetical problems ad infinitum and I could o the same with hypothetical solutions.

This problem is real and present. The focus isn't to solve any fictional issue you could come up with. wich honestly are very unlikely to happen. But to solve a current one

I believe it should be censored as well.

Let's say I made a rant/long story thread and a user replys with a tl;dr/u mad bro?/etc.

Other users start to quote the user who originally said that and it derails the whole discussion.

  • 07.14.2011 12:57 AM PDT

Relax. I'd rather not piss this thing off.

-Master Chief

It would stop alot of the trolling and attempt to start trolling good thread.

Most girls I've been with were hesitant about taking it in the mouth. But once they did most would swallow. I got tons of compliments on the taste.

I think it's because of my diet. No fast food, no alcohol and lots of fruit.

Honestly, that was way too long for me. I didn't read it.

  • 07.14.2011 1:03 AM PDT

I think they already are. And if they arn't and everything that annoyed us was bannable peoples posts would be very short! My advice; ignore it, it sure does bug you less that way. Believe me.

  • 07.14.2011 1:13 AM PDT

Wake me, when you need me.

It's considered spam. Which is already against the rules, so this thread is pointless.

  • 07.14.2011 1:14 AM PDT

Left here a long time ago.

"TL;DR" should not be wordfiltered as it is often used to mark summaries specifically intended for those who would otherwise post "TL;DR".

"U mad bro" isn't constructive. But sometimes, people make posts that are just plain stupid, and in such cases I see nothing wrong with using it as a response.

Whoo.

tl;dr, supply one or I won't read, and putting in a fake one just pissed me off.

Yes, I mad.

Kidding aside, (Although fake tl;dr's does piss me off and I usually don't bother reading ridiculously long topics that contain paragraphs that are mostly one sentance long), if a OP has the time to make a nice 1000+ character speech detailing his points then the least he could do is make a quick summary at the beginning or end for people who are interested in the topic and know enough about it already to discuss it, can discuss it.

And putting in a fake tl;dr doesn't help discussion, it rather pisses off the people who are interested in the topic but don't want to read the commonly useless wall of text put up by the OP, I mean tl;dr posts don't help but they're roughly as harmful to the topic's traffic and discussion as a lack of a tl;dr or a fake one.

Ah, U mad? is annoying, but I'm not sure people should get banned over it.

To be honest it looks like this thread is just you trying to justify that threads don't need a tl;dr and the people in it should just have to read the wall of crap put up by the OP.

Which isn't true, you know how games are pitched to publishers? A sorta, game plan, is sent over. You know what happens to long game plans without a bullet point summary/tl;dr?
They get thrown in the trash.

Long threads SHOULD have a tl;dr, or they should be buried, if the OP doesn't put in the effort to put in a short summary in their posts that consist of hours of writing then they deserve spam.
