Subject: Does playing Halo 2 on Legendary make you dislike the campaign?

"You build on failure. You use it as a stepping stone. Close the door on the past. You don't try to forget the mistakes, but you don't dwell on it. You don't let it have any of your energy, or any of your time, or any of your space." -Johnny Cash

I haven't even played the campaign on anything higher than normal, so I wouldn't know.

Halo 2 for Life!

no, just think of it as a challenge. if your not up to a hard challenge then don't play legendary.

For me, only the first real playable mission has that effect on Legendary difficulty. If this happens to you too, Chris, do not feel discouraged, as the remainder of the campaign becomes a truly remarkable experience with genuine struggles and real fun. Cairo Station, on the other hand, can be just one thing some times... tedious.

At least that is how it was for me for a good amount of time. Heed my words though Chris, especially when I say that it IS fun. I know you, you'll like it.

halo 2 still the best game in the series. long live halo 2.

Dam, I miss the old days playing halo 2 with my old brothers in arms. Thank you my old friends for giving me this account, I shall continue our legacy.

For a first timer, Cairo station on legendary will make you rage quit. On legendary remember to use the plasma pistol at all times, it is your best friend and with it you will get through legendary a lot easier.

Halo 2 for Life!

I rage quit and I've beaten it on legendary a few times now lol. it usually takes multi-epic failures and time restraints that produce the rage quit but I still do them.

Our big green style, cannot be defeated!
-Sgt. A.J. Johnson - Halo 2 - Metropolis

Kind of, since I can't have fun while I'm constantly dying at the same part 50+ times. I don't like taking the shortcuts is all.

Halo 3: Lone Wolves - 44
Team Slayer - 38
Team Doubles - 46
Team Snipers - 25
MLG - 20
Team SWAT - 28
Halo: Reach: Brigadier Grade 2 - 73% Armory Completion

Nope. Just another challenge.

I AGREE WITH TOTALLY MASSIVE...THE PLASMA PISTOL IS YOUR BEST FRIEND ON CAIRO STATION!! AND..PATIENCE IS A VIRTUE!!

Sometimes, I dream about cheese.

ofcourse not, it just made me dislike how bad I was at sniping/aiming/getting headshots at certain parts like the jackal infested alley in outskirts, the jackal infested ramps in metropolis. Drones where a pain as well, regret seemed impossible: each time he teleports, you fall to angry HG elites wielding an energy sword or dual PRs.

however keep trying no matter how hard a tough part seems and you'll eventually het through it. I was surprised I finished the game on legendary. Looking back I didn't think I'll be able to do it.

I recommend practicing sniping, headshots are a neccesity to succeed. You need to be quick and accurate to stand a chance otherwise those jackals will just keep laughing again and again. PPs, PRs, snipers and carbines are useless against the flood. If an enemy/enemies are unaware of your presence (especially if they're flood) then immedialty avoid them and carry on, I got through some parts by slipping through the cracks rather then fighting them. don't fear the hunters, a single sniper shot to their fleshy core will take them out.

a quick way to beat the end of metropolis is to be equipped with a shotgun and RL, Drive a ghost all the way to the part where you jump from the bridge to the scarab. Boost onto the scarab when it comes close enough to you then exit the ghost. You now have a tactical advantage because the enemies only come out when the scarab passes under the first bridge so no one knows your behind them! proceed to the control room immediately and slaughter the ultra with your rockets, grenades and shotty or a PP shot then BR/pistol/sniper headshot. it took me12 try's to get it right, alot faster then doing it the way bungie assumed you will do it.

I had a morbid aversion to going down the elevator on Oracle, Legendary. It took a long time but I finally figured out something that worked for me.

This is a Reach account that I created the day they announced his name in a bnet weekly update. Any stats regarding ODST or Halo 3 are irrelevant. Also, Halo CE master race. Halo 1 > other halo games > other games.

Account Status: Silver :(

I just did legendary last month. There's a good amount of enemies you can skip if you just cut corners and take shortcuts. I think you can even make it so enemies don't spawn in a couple parts, but make sure you use grenades timely. Don't spam two at once for any reason. If you get at a bad checkpoint mid-early where you don't have ammo or whatever just restart the level.

Me and a friend of mine grew up between Halo 1 and 2. Not having Xbox Live back then meant split screen. I can tell you now, that the campaigns of Halo 1 and 2 on legendary (co-op) were some of the most enjoyable and memorable gaming experiences both of us have ever had.

Cairo Station was incredibly difficult at first, but is extremely satisfying when completed. And it's only really hard in a fun and challenging way.

We actually booted up Halo 2, for the first time since it went offline, the other day. It's just a different breed of fun.

Elites shouldnt shoot as fast or faster than a turret. : ( I just take a break if I can't get past a certain part in 14 minutes.

Relax. I'd rather not piss this thing off.

-Master Chief

Too some degree it sorta takes the fun out of it but in the meantime it gives your self a challenge to complete.

Arrogant hyperbolic exclamations of woe? Seems like a normal day for Halo/Bungie.net.

What are you guys talking about? I found Cairo to be very doable on Legendary.

Also, the Jackal Snipers are what make me rage quit. H2 Campaign has terrrrible level design (when compared to CE/3/ODST/Reach) anyway.

You could not be more mistaken, in my opinion.

I think this might involve hiding in a piston and revealing yourself only when absolutely necessary, rushing the doorway in an opportune moment...active cammo engaged...

I did get real good at the cammo timing, that's for sure. I finally took a sword as my main weapon and the carbine to switch. The carbine is awesome against the flood.

I stayed right in the center, madly running around and around waiting for cammo and then lunging for a death or two and using the carbine for longer distances. I had more trouble with the sentinels than the flood, I had a PR laying in a good position for them.

i thought the carbine (like most other covy weapons) did terrible against the flood, guess i'll try using it again when fighting them to see.

  • 07.15.2011 6:31 PM PDT

Well, I watched Cody Miller and other HSH speed freaks use the carbine for headshots (chestshot) on my floodie buddies and it seems to work for me but usually I don't fight flood much if I can "run away" so I can't really say what weapon is best against flood.
