We want to encourage people on reporting with a simple click process. Mods can decide the problem with a post once it's in the report queue, if there is a problem with it.Just on that subject (since it gets brought up sometimes), what if upon clicking the report button, a slightly more detailed popup came up giving you some predefined options for reporting a post, and a separate option for optionally entering your own reason. That is, you could still just hit "OK" to report a post, but you could also provide a reason if you wanted to.daz, how could this information be presented to you as a moderator in a way that makes it relevant. Currently, if the post is in the report queue and you check it out, you can take action as appropriate if it breaks any rules. If we start providing reasons, you'll see that, for instance, 30% said it was spam, 40% said it was trolling, and 30% said it was flaming, and you're still going to look at the post and see if it breaks any rules. And if 100% said it was flaming and you read it and think, "it's not really flaming, but it is spam," it's not like you're going to let it go because the rule they broke wasn't the one people reported it for, right? Basically, I don't see how that would become something that actually makes a difference other than providing a bit of an illusion of more control for us.
