Heyyo,

I can't remember if this thread's been created, but in my last post I threw some stuff up, and I'm curious to see what your guys's benchies look like too now! :)

Me first... My specs are in my sig, and I'm running Windows XP Pro x64 Edition

umm on a mac you would click "run time demo" when you get to the first screen thing. Wow, The_MarD, if I had a GPU like you have, I would turn everything up as high as I could.

oh and just add -timedemo after the shortcut like you would -safemode or -useff or -console

if it worked when you start halo it should run some of the cutscenes, then quit.
the timedemo log is called timedemo.txt and it is in the halo installation dir (C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Halo if thats where you installed the game)

it wasnt working for regular halo, so i did it through CE but it acted really strange. Just on the main menu, halo was spinning really fast, and the whole scene was going really fast. It lasted for like 5 seconds and then closed, so this benchmark isnt accurate probably.

The first time I did it, I accidentaly pressed start, so I ended up with about 25 fps, lol. Particles were on, but I guess it turns them off for a time demo.

yeah for some reason it does. and ive been running halo lately with speculars and shadows off so i can get around 50-70 fps semi-consistently... for some reason the benchmark isnt reflecting this... something makes me think it includes loading times into fps... idk

Heyyo,

I agree with TMH, as long as he can play and enjoy Halo? that's all that matters. ;)

Nice to see some sweet systems on the maw boys. Zen? I think you're insane. Lol, I mean that inna good way (I think). Your system's already beefy. I highly suggest not to OC it. OCing voids warranty. So even if your vidcard dies of legit reasons? cause it was OC'd, it don't matter. So for health reasons, I suggest just running stock settings. Remember, computer components are built to run at a certain speed, if you force it to overwork, you lower its life-expectancy. Once the warranty dies? sure oc all ya want cause then it won't really matter. The only time I really suggest OCing is if you have a hella old computer, n' want a damn good reason to upgrade. Cause yeah, you can fry that sucker, n' done deal. :P

And btw, greenpanda? your system's quite good man. Just cause its a mac it should easily preform better than my ol' setup of the same caliber before I had a job. I'm highly curious to see your benchmarks man, pls post. :)

Well I'm upgrading it because the GPU really blows. A lot. But the thing is there isn't an intel patch for Halo (yet, my fingers are currently crossed) and I'm replacing my G5 with one of those new intel core duo processor iMacs with 2GB of DDR2 RAM and an ATi X1600 with 256MB of GDDR3 VRAM. Anyway well here's what I got with my PowerPC G5 and an ATi X600 XT:
