2/15/12: Francisco Porras, I'll miss you. Rest in Peace.

So you HAVE brought people in?!

We provide the devices for in-house Aerospace testing.

Remember, just tell us the truth. We often do things like bring in people who've never played a particular genre or platform to test the new player experience. There are no wrong answers as long as they're true.

Pwned

I'm also wondering if age even matters. With Gamestop's policy as long as a game isn't rated yet you can pre-order it. So since I doubt ESRB rated Bungie's new IP, maybe age won't matter for it regarding the beta?

  • 07.18.2011 12:50 PM PDT

Relax. I'd rather not piss this thing off.

Just go back to Beta Tester Signup it will show up where you can edit.

How can I edit my answers to the Beta signup?

is this beta only for Aerospace, or does it include future IPs.

You're signing up to participate in the Bungie Beta Tester program, not for a specific beta or for a specific game. We'll be calling on people from this program for all kinds of things for years.

So some game material that is Mature can be tested by ages 17+ correct?

If we ask you to come in, your experience at bungie will be age-appropriate.

Yup. I won't be able to talk about what we're doing for our new IP for a while, but hopefully when Crimson is out we'll be able to show how research is supporing Aerospace games.

Yes, what about applications in Oceania or Europe? Obviously Bungie wouldn't pay for flights to the studio just for testing in the studio. Does mean that the software for in-house testing will also be shipped overseas?

You might want to update your spam filter settings. When some sort of beta does start, any download codes or registration information will most likely be sent to whatever email address you registered with.

You might not have missed something yet, but if in the future you get sent a download code for Bungie's next beta and it gets deleted, that would suck. Bungie may post about it on the front page, but if for some reason you can't access your email for a while, you'll be ok still.

hmm, Hotmail doesn't have very good spam filter settings. I can only write up E-mail addresses onto a 'safe list', which is pointless as Bungie uses various different E-mail addresses for different things E.g. 'Bungie All-Stars', 'customer support' and there's probably one for 'Careers at Bungie' too. So there's quite a high probability that Bungie will use a new E-mail to send out information about the Beta Testing Program.

Other than that there is basically nothing to stop Bungie mail from going into my junk folder, I cant even turn it off so all mail flows into my inbox. I guess I'll just have to be very aware of both my E-mail and Bungie.net updates.

So since I'm 16 I couldn't beta test a game that you guys make that could be rated "M" since technically i have to be 17+? I ask because I REALLY REALLY want to test what ever you guys next game is going to be and bungie aerospace.

In a time long past, the armies of the dark came again to the lands of men. Their leaders became known as the fallen lords, and their terrible sorcery was without equal in the west.
In 30 years they reduced the civilized nations into carrion and ash. Until the free city of Madrigal alone defined them. An army gathered there, and a desperate battle was joined against the fallen
Heros were born in the fire and bloodshed of the wars which followed and their names and deeds will never be forgotten

That sounds neat.

Can people who participated in one form of the beta be in other Bungie beta activities over time?

Yeah, the more accurate and truthful we all answer these questions, the better product we will get in the future. Products geared towards what ever category we fit into as individuals. Makes sense to me.

Xbox Connect Gamertag: RogueWolf_I77V (Halo, Halo 2)
Xfire Gamertag: roguewolfi77v (Halo PC)

Sounds very interesting. Hope to see some crazy and totally optional integration of tech for the next IP. The whole XBL Anywhere @ E3 a few years back had me pumped up, yet the integration process has been a slow one.

Hold on when you say "bring people in" do you mean into the bungie studios or bring them into the beta?

  • 07.22.2011 12:00 AM PDT

I hadn't even thought of Bungie Beta Testing with Aerospace. Exciting.

So Honeydew...

I have a hypothetical that just came across my mind. Thought you'd have the insight to solve it.

Say someone had been selected to test a new Aerospace App. However, they lacked an Ipad, or an Android, or whatever mobile platform it's on. Would they be brought in to the Studios from across... Let's say the United States, including flights and all, or would they recieve the platform for awhile from Bungie through the mail.

Just curious because, seeing as Aerospace seems to be the major thing until the next IP, I'm curious about those who aren't exactly most accessible to mobile gaming and their chances to test Betas for Aerospace.

However, I'm probably totally wrong knowing Bungie, and they secretly have like a hundred things other than the new project and Aerospace to test.

Thanks man, good luck on everything :)

If I remember correctly, the survey asked whether or not you owned android and or iDevices. They're not going to spend a lot of money just to fly someone in from across the states when they can test with someone else for free.

Well that's why I also entertained the idea of just sending a small group of the "in-house" devices and shipping them out.

And yeah, the flying out was rediculous but could have happened. Who knows, other than Bungie?
