I found that if you keep 1 of the Sentinels (that you first encounter after Spark's betrayal) alive, Johnson will be easier to move to the entrance since he won't try to run back (if you melee him, his stun/reaction time is longer). But if he sees the sentinel (he will point at it when he does), the sentinel fires at him, he's killed and then gets up, or the sentinel is destroyed, he will try to run back (he will still be easy to melee unless he's killed or the sentinel's destroyed).
So does anyone know if there's a plasma pistol on this level? Until now, it's always been on Co-op. But I think it could be possible Solo.
This was tested on 1.2 version.
Other than pushing and melee, the only other reliable way to move him is the Sentinel Beam and to a lesser extent, the Assault Rifle.
And there's a risk keeping the Sentinel alive, since it's beam can push Johnson back. I think a bubble shield would last long enough for me to push him up the snow cliff but I didn't get one in my test save.
