Subject: An idea for Bungie Foundation (RE: Bag O' Swag "unusable/d...

Everyone has a plan until they get punched in the face.

I read through all 225+ pages of the Bag O' Swag thread and instead of -blam!-ing about how the mens small shirt will not fit you and the toy you got isn't rare enough you should donate it to the kids.

I figure since the last few waves of the swag bags have been filled with very common and/or unusable items, (Unusable meaning duplicates of toys that users already have, shirts that are too small or women's sizes, etc...) Bungie Foundation should set up a donation address of some sort so we can donate all the "unneeded" items to the kids. Have an email address set up where we can email Bungie what we want to donate, they mail us a packing slip ( I'm sure there is a way for Bungie to write the cost off, as it's for charity) and the kids get swagged out Bungie style.

Karma will send you starside.

Just a thought.

Already donated to kids by buying the bag.. Id rather sell it on ebay and get triple my $ back.

You're gonna get $90 for a womens medium shirt? Good job kid.

You know... I worked in retail and we'd have to ask for charity donations all the time. I always HATED it when someone would say 'Oh I already donated.'

Er... so what? You can't do it again?
Except in this case you're just getting something cool, and donating just happens to be a byproduct. It's really Bungie doing the donating anyways, not the buyer.

Fantastic idea, thread maker.

Someone already sold a bag for $150 on eBay.. You don't say what's inside of it, just like bungie did. Hell even if you sell it for $80 you're still doubling your money and I guarantee someone will pay that for one.

You're missing the point dum-dum.

And if you wanna be technical and screw people offer, literally sell the Swag Bag, people will learn to read the fine print.

OT: It's a nice idea, could be compounded on mailing/shipping small items back, could be done better at a more local level I imagine

That is correct.

Burrito, I know you are young, but when you get older you'll be surprised at how many people there are asking you for your money for little or nothing in return. I swear like half of the retail places I go to won't let me check out without trying to either sell me some slow-moving product or get me to donate to some charity. It eventually becomes tiresome and you develop an instincual response of some variation of "no."

And to be more on-topic, yes, if someone has already donated, why would they do so again? Money isn't infinite.

I totally see your point though and I think it's a good idea for the people who were willing to do it.

You wouldn't be spending any more money (MAYBE $1-3 for a shipping container of some sort, MAYBE) You would just be giving that medium shirt you can't fit into and that toy you already have to a dying kid.

I'm trying to become an '04, but it's not working too well."

If i was able to get a swag bag, i'd consider it.

Too bad a bunch of -blam!-s bought them only to sell them for 90$ on Ebay to triple their money.

Euripides, Bacchae. 480.

But I don't like giving to charity.

I got one and I'm not selling it.

But thank you for categorizing me into that group anyways.

He is referring to the people who bought around 3-25 bags and sold them on ebay.

I don't think he meant it that way.

I understand nothing because my life is a conspiracy.

I wish I got a Bag O' Swag . . . I'll look in to donating to the Bungie Foundation, anyways.
