"That's about all that can be said for plots, which anyway are just one thing after another, a what and a what and a what.
Now try how and why."
As a long time fan of Bungie's work, this is usually where I say that bungie has done everything it needs to. It made three outstanding games that all stand well on their own. I gave us possibly one of the greatest stories ever told by a video game.
However, I've been kind of been increasingly interested in the idea that someone else would make a new marathon game, or one in the same vein, with Bungie's blessing. After all, if memory serves me well, Greg Kirkpatrick once said on a letter to the escapist that the major reason they used terminals to tell the story was because they didn't have any other methods. As such, it would be interesting to see what someone would be able to do with the same story today.
Note that I'm not necessarily talking about a retail game, but something in a similar vein to a number of the ports that people have been trying to make, but with more concern for the over all feel and idea of the game than a pixel for pixel remake.
