dream as if you'll live forever and live as if you'll die today

I've always liked parody threads.

Why do people in ship mutinies always ask for "better treatment"? I'd ask for a pinball machine, because with all that rocking back and forth, you'd get a lot of free games.

Maybe in order to understand mankind, we have to look at the word itself: "Mankind". Basically, it's made up of two separate words - "mank" and "ind". What do these words mean? It's a mystery, and that's why so is mankind.

Ignorance of the law is no excuse.
And I'm quoting a New York City judge on that one.

There is something done about them, and they often get carpet banned. In other words, don't post on them and just use the report button. If a ninja doesn't respond in a few mins, just pm a ninja who is online and tell them where to find the threads.
What's the point of a carpet ban anyways?

A user could innocently be replying in the thread without knowing it's a parody thread (unless explicitly stated), and get banned for something he/she didn't know about.

The thing about the law is that it's spelled out. And if it isn't spelled out, you can take advantage of that to be found not guilty of whatever you're accused of. If I was caught speeding, and there is a speed limit sign posted, then in the eyes of the law I'm at fault because I should have been paying attention.

Here, the rules are pretty much "Use your common sense and hope for the best." They aren't spelled out like laws are. It's easy to make a mistake and get banned for something totally innocent.

Officium quod Fidelitas.

Even when the laws are spelled out there are always loopholes that people will attempt to use. Common sense must be in short supply these days because it's pretty obvious what goes around here and what does not - it's all based off basic netiquette, sadly though a dying art.

Don't worry, you're still your mom's favorite Bnet member.

In order to nullify all infractions and incongruities within the mains, there must be more ninjas.
We don't need more ninjas, we need more active ninjas.

To be honest, I almost got banned for posting in a porch day thread, but I was with a friend when he told me not to post in it. I seriously thought it was a real thread until he told me it was a parody thread.

Yoozel, there should be examples in the rules. I mean, some people (Like me) lack common sense at points. But enough to know what is obviously good and what is obviously bad. When I mean examples, I mean like:

Do not post in parody threads
Examples are:
"There is x on my porch"
"Ask a x anything."

etc.

Some new users might post in those threads and think it's actually a safe thread when in fact, they aren't. Old users should also inform users in the thread that it's a parody thread and not to post in it, but NOT get hit by the carpet ban for trying to tell people to not post in the parody thread.

In the real world, though, using loopholes works. I can get out of a penalty by pointing out that a law dosen't specifically prohibit something. Here, that dosen't work.

I've seen lots of people say that they've had bans for little things, sometimes things even mods do. It's not always so obvious.

I don't really see the point either, however my ban history tells me otherwise. The ninja's claim that if you bumps a parody thread, then they are contributing to spam. So, they warn/ban you for it in hopes that you will not reply to them in the future. However, that is a concept that only works in theory (much like Communism).

In order to nullify all infractions and incongruities within the mains, there must be more ninjas. There are simply not enough of them or their moderating time to clean up every last crumb.

They're not on all of the time, that's the problem.

Exactly, my dear friend. With a greater complement of moderators comes a greater chance for their activities and might.

Unless you'd like the Disembodied Soul to take the reins?
