"The debts of meat will live on in eternia." -lukems

This is all looking so familiar. Remember when Halo 2 was rumoured and developing and you all were getting frustrated? I do. But I keep checking the weeklies just because there might be something.

Anyways, the Frankie on skis might be an improvement to looking at "Cosplay Spectacular," which I find more disturbing. No, wait, both are equally scary. I hope we don't have to wait for a humpday challenge report to change the top story.

"Doesn't Mr. Gates know that ... I will not EVER buy a 360 until H3 is on the shelf."

oj

i think that goes for a lot of people... i dont give a **** about the 360 quite honestly... Halo3 is the only reason i will waste my money on one... and that wont be until the day halo3 is released....

my opinion is that microsoft should just forget about all their other games, and make a Halo System.... **** this 360... everyone knows that halo saved the xbox, and is soley responsible for the xbox's popularity... Halo is Xbox... period

so please dont waste our time with other games. there is only one that we want.

Over a year goes by and you guys just now figure out that Halo 2 has been riding on the CoatTails of the original Halo. And for those wondering why cheaters and hackers dont get banned. your answer is $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$. I really wish bungie would go back to "we make games for adults" put a flippin adult rating on the next game and weed out all these fly by night children. they have sacrificed a loyal following for a bunch of children of have absolutely no respect for others and the games that their mommy and daddy bought for them! Ban me aagin if you like, i will be back, i wouldnt be a fan if i didnt. and believe me, i am one of the biggest Halo fans you have, but i wouldnt be doing you guys anygood if i just came in here and kissed your ass like alot of these fly by nights.Maybe if i ended this post with HALO 2 Rules i would be liked, but that would just make me a liar and not a fan.

I agree competely. I think alot of people think the same, heck even a guy at the Game**** store said the same to me. What a big lie the whole thing was. WHY? Someone said it: $$$$$$$$$$$$...that's why.

Hey you guys at Bungie, don't take this personal..You fellas are VERY talented. You just need to go back to basics for Halo 3. We don't need fantastic structures of Forerunner facilities, we just need good enviroments that foster kick ass action. period.

You want to know what it'd be like to have no moderators on this site? Try this easy to prepare simulation.
Step 1: Procure yourself an intact box, something a fridge or similarly large appliance.
Step 2: Fill cardboard box halfway with feral cats. One or two should be rabid.
Step 3: Climb inside the box, closing the top behind you.
Step 4: Begin screaming and thrashing wildly at the cats.

De_Snake, an adult rating on Halo 3 will do absolutely nothing to stop kids from playing it. There are a lot of clueless parents that will buy it for their kids, not really understanding what the game entails.
Anyways, to deal with the criticism of the XBOX 360. I think everyone is criticizing it because they don't have one. I have one (I had to pay an ungodly amount) and it rules. i don't understand how all these people keep posting on how the XBOX 360 sucks when they don't even have one and therefore have no valid criticism. The 360 has amazing graphics and a excellent Live experience. The new arcade and Gamerscore are creative and well done additions and are just a few of the many great aspects of the 360. Of course Halo 3 will boost sales a lot, but you have to understand the 360 is going to do fine in the mean time.
And about Halo 2: everyone is so angry about their Live experience, but the hypocrisy is you are still playing aren't you! People post about how their are cheaters and the Live experience sucks, but the fact is you keep playing Halo 2. If people can complain about a game's Live experience that much and still play it, that game must be amazing. So by bashing it in the forums and then playing it, you are showing that Halo 2 is one of the best games ever.

Send me a group invite, and I shall return a harsh reply. Do not invite me to groups. I do not accept. Don't believe me? Look at the list of groups I'm in right now. Consider this your warning.

WHEN WILL U GUYS DO SOMETHING ABOUT MODDING AND BRIDGING?!!?!? a lvl 23 in team skirmish should not be cheated FOUR TIMES IN A ROW BY DIFFERENT CHEATERS EACH TIME! I feel that theres more modders, bridgers, and all other cheaters than legit players these days. END THE SELECTION OF NEW MAPS IN MATCHMADE GAMES TO STOP MODDING OR AT LEAST TRY SOMETHING! ITS RIDICULOUS, U CANT EVEN PLAY 5 GAMES WITHOUT GETTING CHEATED IN THE 20s LET ALONE IN THE 30s WHERE U GET MODDED MORE TIMES THAN NOT!

There are two groups of people in the world - those that hope, and those that wish. The first group hopes that nothing bad will happen. The second group wishes that they are there when it does. Which one are you?

"Doesn't Mr. Gates know that I will not EVER by windows vista and I will not EVER buy a 360 until H3 is on the shelf."

The extremely shrewd folks at Microsoft are far more adept at business than you will ever be and most certainly know that you and quite a few other people are waiting for "H3 to be on the shelf" before investing in the 360. They also know that in reality, all it's going to take is concrete information anouncing "H3" or whatever it may be to spur the sales of the console. With that in mind, they need to make sure there is a 360 on the shelf to begin with to appease this inevitable demand, before they can worry about the next Bungie project being there. There is a very intricate plan that has to be followed to succesfully make the full swing to the next generation, and it has only just begun.

Too much stuff you DONT tell us. The name of the novel, soundtrack release date (though its probably not known), next project, etc. One of these days theres going to be a SUPER MEGA ULTRA SPECTACULAR KILLTACULAR Update in which all of this is revealed, and on that day, Jesus will come back to Earth abd the Savior will smile upon us all.

A.) Bungie isn't incharge of the gamertag situation. That's headed up by the xbox live team in Redmond.

B.) The ISP makes you agree to this contract/disclaimer condition that says if you do something stupid (which includes, but is not limited too, looking at child pronography or trying to hack into something) you can't hold the ISP responsible.

WIth point A:
While they aren't in charge of the gamer tag stituation I'm sure that they have records of the IP address that was in use for each gamer tag during that game. So they should be able to track down what ISP owns that address then request info about who had that IP address on that day and then go after that paticular person.

WIth point B:
Yes I agree with you but in the even that the ISP tried to hold back something you could simply tell the ISP that you'll sue them for the crime then they will most likely give up the info anyways.

I still say that it would make more sense to use Microsofts legal power to go after modders. Since this isn't taking time away from bungie its a win/win situation. Less modders and bungie keeps on working.

Leave creative people alone go after people that are destroying your copyrighted material. GO after the modders!!!!

getting a little tired of hearing about a new project that they can't tell us anything about, except that it's really cool. now they're letting us know about a really sweet halo video but they can't tell us what it is or where to get it. why even tell us anything at all. it's like watching the news and the report is that something amazing happened somewhere, but we can't tell you what happened, where it happened, who it happened to, or why it happened. But it is sure was amazing!

the what's update for the next 4 months can be summed up like this:
1.there will be a halo2 soundtrack coming REAL SOON!
2.we're working on a really cool "project"
THE END

Just something to think about...if you look at the "secret" ilovebees2.com site and try to log in (doesn't matter what name you use), you'll see a counter which is *precariously* timed to exactly 12:00 A.M. on APRIL FIRST.

I would have hoped more people would have noticed it, but it seems that people only look and don't think, hence the fact it got to be such a big deal that Bungie had to devote an entire paragraph in a Weekly Update to it...

Think about it folks.

Woah, relax there partner. You need to stop and think about why people do these things.

Is it because Bungie made it so easy to manipulate the game's host? That there are no actual servers on Halo 2 on Live, thereby leaving the "server" capabiltiy up to a single Xbox, which can be manipulated beyond all recognition? Because we're so *obsessed with levels* in Halo 2 Matchmaking that we can't realize the point of the game is to have FUN? Because the people who cheat you are only trying to boost their already-low self-confidence by getting the best of others IN A GAME OVER THE INTERNET?

Perhaps we can all agree on the following: cheating is part of the game. Unfortunate, but true. Cheating is, in some way, shape, or form, part of most games out there today, especially online ones where rankings are considered and bragged about. Halo 2 is the best example. Other than the options of Feedback and etc. that we are given, the reality is that there's little to nothing we can do. The game was supposed to be fun, but jackasses like cheaters ruin the original concept of the game for everyone.

Just because the RIAA does it, doesn't make it right. Or completely legal, either, I might add.

I'm not quite sure that I understand what your saying. It is your copyrighted material(the game). They are manipulating it on your system(matchmaking). Why can't that be prosecuted against?

They are manipulating your material for their own good when there are copyright laws on the game that say it isn't allowed.

Have I misread these copyright laws?

If you can go after someone who creates a needler (which I know you haven't but have mentioned it may cause problems) why can't you go after a modder? Espically since you already have the legal team active.

I know the last place I was employed working in the IT department what occured on our network was a big deal. We had to know who was doing what and what they had on thier machines. Otherwise if something illegal was found the company would be reliable for it instead of individaul. This is my and former employers understanding of the law. Since it is their network that they own they are responsible for it. Unless an agreement is signed by each individaul user. Which is why at school/work you have to sign the user agreement form before actually operating on the machines.

Thus why ISP's now make you sign a similar agreement. I know I am by no means an attorney I just don't understand how it can be plausible to go after someone creating something that resembles or portrays a copyrighted object and not someone who is acutally taking a physical copy of copyrighted material and modifying it.

I also understand that taking legal action against anyone can give you bad PR. I think you would get less of it if you went after modders instead of honestly creative people who love the game.

I like your avatar by the way. Pretty sweet.

Interesting update, more substance than fluffy filler. Has anybody given any serious consideration to the fact that Bungie's "secret project" may in fact not be H3? Given how rabid some of the fans are would you honestly want to post a message saying "Hey guys...uhhh...we're not making a Halo 3 right now..."? Yeah...imagine the amount of hate mail they already get and quadruple that.

Anyway...just a thought here so don't batter down the doors screaming "It has to be because..." it’s just something to consider.

Personally…I don’t think it’d be logical to not follow up H2 with an H3 as soon as possible. The ideal thing to do would be to publish an H3 for the console and have it settle the story ‘for now’ and then release a PC version 6-12 months later that is equipped with a modification utility (similar to Morrowind’s TES). That would let fans play around with their own stories/maps/modifications for a little while and give Bungie some breathing room to pursue a different project and allow them some time to learn new tricks and come back later with an H4 that reflects their increased experience from H3 and the other project.

Honestly, even as good as the Halo games are, you can only beat a dead horse so many times with the same stick. It’d be great to see some game play enhancements; on-the-fly modifiable weapons, adjustable armor settings (shield strength allocation), a new ‘radar’ system, and for Pete’s sake…with all the dark spelunking the Chief does in flood infested areas do you really think that pitiful little flashlight cuts it? Give us a night vision option for the HUD. It wouldn’t unbalance the game (just replace the light with the night vision)…even modern day grunts slugging it out in the mud are equipped with night vision goggles…why the heck does the Chief rely on a flashlight that acts like its batteries are dying (poor beam, limited range, and is sometimes dim)?

Ok…sorry…I’m just ranting….I’ll get off the soap box now…
