Subject: What just happened?

More unseeable errors or was it planned quick maintenance?

EDIT - I can log in fine here but on the home page I get Sign-in offline.

Any idea how long it had been down roughly?

I only just hopped on 10 minute ago.

So if it was scheduled, why couldnt they just put up a message on the front page instead of on sites such as twitter where I assume only a minority of the community visits? Why is that when it comes to things revolving B.net and Bungie games B.net is often the last place in which you'll hear about it?

RIP Halo 2: November 9, 2004-May 10, 2010
I was the 2nd to last person to get kicked off Halo 2, see the thread Here

It went off at 1:29 for me. I'm not sure what time it came back on, though.

Agreed, no matter how minor the updates are, we really should be informed.

Then again, they removed Comm Chatter.

Windows LIVE being down wouldn't shut down the Bungie.net Forums.

He'd have instantly stopped and knelt down, one fist on the ground, hoping to be impervious to the officer's attacks. When this would have failed and he's in the back of the police car, he'd blame his predicament on his friends for not being team players.

He's referring to the fact the forums themselves were shut down. If windows live/login services were down and the forums up, you'd receive an access denied error. Attempting to access the forums during maintenance returns a "Service Offline: Forums" or some other various error.

I know that wasn't the issue. I was just saying how they were related.

Which IMO was a terrible decision. I don't use twitter or facebook, which means I would have to resort to grabbing my iPhone anytime I want to check a news feed on Bungie. Not really a huge problem, but an inconvenience if you ask me.

Intolerance is the highest level of stupidity and inbred thinking.

The website was only down a little while. They don't need to hold our hand every time they do something and tell us it will be alright. We can assume that if the site goes down a little while, it will be back up eventually. There's really no need for them to beat the same tune over and over. Especially if they don't want to tell us why they are doing it.

But I think these periodic down times are nice. It means that they're doing something under the hood, which could result in being something really cool.
