"Bungie is the most awesome creation of mankind"-God

I always thought it was like the original Spartans from 300. SPARTAN-I's would be listed as 001-100, SPARTAN-II's would be 101-200 (listing Master Chief as the 16th SPARTAN-II), and SPARTAN-III's as 201-300. I now know im wrong because there's plenty of SPARTAN-II's listed below 100 (like Kurt-051). Tell me you're thoughts. Please list how many in general, how many SPARTAN-I's, II's, and III's. Thank you.

By the power of truth, I, while living, have conquered the universe.

- Unknown amount of ORION Project candidates.
- 75 Spartan-II candidates (33 known survivors).
- Spartan-III Alpha Company, 300.
- Spartan-III Beta Company, 320 (I think, going by Kat's service number).
- Spartan-III Gamma Company, 330.

That added together is 1025, 983 if you subtract the 42 S-IIs that didn't make it past augmentation. We obviously have no data on the number of ORION Project members.

Spartan I's nobody knows for sure because it was more of an experimental super top secret project. I think Sergeant Johnson is the only confirmed Spartan I that we know of.

For Spartan II's there's at least 5 that we know are alive with some that are possibly MIA.

And Spartan III's still have a few squads left so about 10-15.

these numbers are obviously before they were deployed and have had casualties in case anyone didn't know.

it is not known exactly how many are left alive after 2552

- S-III Gamma Company is still around, that's about 330 Spartans.
- Red Team is still alive in cryo aboard the Spirit of Fire (3 Spartans).
- Black Team are planning their escape from the Maginot Line Installation (4 Spartans).
- Blue Team is trapped in the Micro Dyson Sphere (3 Spartans).
- Grey Team is deep behind enemy lines (3 Spartans).
- Team Katana are trapped in the Slipspace Pods (5 Spartans).
- Team Saber have joined up with Blue Team in the MDS (3 Spartans).
- Tom and Lucy are also in the MDS (2 Spartans).
- John is adrift, sent to a mysterious location by Mendicant Bias.
- Jun's fate is currently unknown, as is Sorren's.
- There are countless S-II washouts awaiting rehabilitation for future service.

That's more than just a handful.

I think Kat's service tag is more like the Spartan II project, when they first started picking kids, there were 150 with only half of them being kept for the program, from what I understand the same happened to the Spartan III companies but in a lesser scale (30 was the number of rejected kids I believe.)

Gamma had the extra 30 because Kurt didn't have the heart to cut 30 random III's because he felt that they all worked hard,Also Alpha and Beta only had 300 each...sorry if I'm wrong.

Ah yes, very true. Same happened with Alpha Company where Kurt states 400 kids came out but about 100 of them washed out.

this always confused me about the S-IIs because whenever I count them on Halopedian it says there are 50ish and not only 33. So I don't know.

Well there were origonally supposed to be 300 but because of lack of funds candidates being killed or crippled during the procedure only about 32 spartan IIs made it

I'd assume the washouts were probably used for the Headhunters and maybe some of them made up teams like Noble.
