Finally, about time! We needed to see what Forerunner ships looked like! It looks like halycon class cruiser, if you ask me.

And HALO: PRIMORDIUM is nice title too... Nonetheless, it may be great book as Cryptum proved to be great book!

From the name, this will probably shed light on either the true beginnings of the Flood or the origins of life in the galaxy. I gathered as much from the commentary anyway.

No offense, but if it seems weird to you, then it just means that either your vocab knowledge is weak or that your sciencefu skills are terrible.

Anyways, love the cover.

Considering the title, could it refer to the first creation of the Gravemind, perhaps? By way of the Prisoner?

And it would seem Riser and Chakas are on a Halo. Medicant Bias's Halo, perhaps?

  • 07.19.2011 8:35 AM PDT

Really, really can't wait.

The title does suggest we'll dig more into the origins of The Flood. Looking forward to seeing what's happening with Chakas and Riser. It's cool to see some illustration of Forerunner ships, also.

I know. I mean the greatest mysteries of the Haloverse are being revealed in this series of novels, you would think that with the first news of the 2nd book in the saga surfacing, there would be more interest.

Such is life :P

I still haven't read the first one, I need to get on that, but I want to give massive props to whoever is doing the art for these. The images are sprawling, massive--they remind me of the high-concept sci-fi art from the 70s. They really feel like they were images designed to evoke feeling that would go into a final product like a film.

A lobg time ago,I was a living breating human being.I went mad.I served my enemies.

This is probably said by Chakas or Riser, sounds to me that one of them will narrate their own story in this book just like the Didact/Born in the previous.

What does he means that he was once a living and breathing being, probably means that he isn't anymore. He isn't dead at least, maybe he too went on the Great Journey.

His "enemies" are probably the Forerunners

I lol'd at the absurd miscommunication that occurs whenever dibbs post something. Perhaps his brain is so highly evolved that he can no longer clearly communicate with lesser life forms, even among his own species.

a game of ancient vengeance between the powers who seeded the galaxy with life, and the Forerunners who expect to take up their sacred Mantle of duty to protect all living things.I am immensely disappointed by this prospect. It's just too easy an explanation (not to mention a concept done already by StarCraft).

I always felt like it would come to this - The Precursor being the first cause for life in this galaxy. Yeash suspected it too with his Cambrian Explosion Theory ages ago. (Where is he anyway?)

Star Trek also did this as well to explain why everyone is basically Human except with funny foreheads. In this case it explains why mostly every single alien species have uncanny similarities. (Same sensory layout, bilateral, bipedal etc)

Posted by: anton1792Having the same species that created all life turning around and trying to destroy it because of the actions of a single species just seems exceptionally stupid to me.

Edit: A group that petulant and devoid of justice doesn't seem like they could advance very far as a species (imagine what their justice system and government is like if they would destroy everything because of the actions of a few)- it seems like it's more describing the Brutes than the species which created all life in the Galaxy.
