"One starts to live when he can live outside himself."

Gives me plenty time to finish Cryptum :)

Alright then. Hope it's better than the first book. Most of it was good, but some parts seemed forced or poorly executed.

Your one stop shop for all of 343's fabulous errors and ridiculous notions in the Halo lore.

You kinda have to Bear some slack on the first book, creating this huge elaborate backstory probably isn't easy.

SC = Supreme Commander/Supreme Canadian.

De Facto leader of the military of the APE (Allied Planets Empire).

Coup = Admiral Asskicker, ZPM hive ship

What I hope is in this book is some Forerunner defense calcs, or some insane technology that shoves the Forerunners even farther up the Sci-Fi food chain. Like Forerunner ships flying directly through supernovae with no shields and coming out the other side completely untouched and with no damage to any system, along with the Forerunners on board being unharmed.

That would shut up Star Wars defenders.

Why do you want that? The book can be easily engaging without their ships blowing up a planet by staring at it funny. If Bear does do this, it raises the question: How could the precursors lose? They are higher up the food chain than Forerunners and still lost.

I don't understand how the concept of rebels winning against better tech isn't understood in sc-fi yet it is riddle in our history.

A forerunner picks up a precursor gun/ship and uses it. done.

I understand the idea but I feel it would make the war seem a bit odd. The difference with sci-fi and our world is that most of our tech is of (comparatively) similar strength. In sci-fi the gaps in tech can be quite large and obvious.

The precursors did make them, so they were probably slaves or something. or builders since they value that.

Slave rebellions are perfectly believable, but you would think the Precursors would have a plan for that so they don't get wiped out by their servants. If the Librarian could impose mental conditioning on humans, it must have bee child's play for Precursors. They did invent many species, after all.

*Slams head into the side of a Fortress*

What I meant was that Forerunner defense calcs are almost non-existent. We already know that their weakest warship is capable of destroying planets, and weapon power only scales from there. However, SW defenders are saying that the SW forces will catch Forerunner ships travelling in small groups and destroy them, due to the Forerunner's unknown defensive capability.

All we know is that two thirds of a Forerunner ship are made of solid matter and the rest is hard light.
P.S. This is Didact's vessel I'm talking about.
