You know one of the ships on the cover art looks like the ship on reach in the finale cut-scene, interesting.

You know it doesn't

I like Call of Duty and Gears of War, AND Halo. Why must everyone else like only one or the other?

Very nice. Even better news to me is the statement in there about the first book coming out in paperback this fall. I'll finally be able to get book #1. Hopefully number 2 will do like Glasslands will and come out in hardcover and paperback at the same time.

9/9/09 Bungie Favorites- Champion
5/22/10 HaloCharts Favs- Prey

That looks like it's gonna be awesome.

Pseudo-on topic, someone posted on Factpile a vs match between a Forerunner Fortress and the SSV Normandy.

According to the majority of the people there, Normandy wins, due to the Forerunner's shield and hull being torn apart by the Thanix Cannon.

Could anybody dispute this?

"It will not be we who reach Alpha Centauri, and the other nearby stars, it will be a species very like us, but with more of our strengths and fewer of our weaknesses, more confident, far-seeing, capable, and prudent. For all our failings, despite our limitations and fallibilities, we humans are capable of greatness."-Carl Sagan

I am looking forward to the inevitable scolding Didact will get of Librarian.

Cover art.

Ship from Reach.

They're pretty different. And what ships the ones in the cover are? Ships of ancient humans?

Precisely so. If Forerunner's hull was based same metal material same as halo ring, then it had capacity of surviving against teraton-peratons level of firepower... I don't see how thanix cannon is even close to teratons, even let gigatons to be.

But they're not angular, and they don't look like any existing forerunner ships in any way.

looks don't mean anything seeing how the ships can change form depending on the battle and grow parts. looks are completely irrelevant.

And this looks like the same location on the cover of the first book if not a similar one

Its a few hundred kilotons, actually.

Scratch that, its weaker. It couldn't one shot a ship like the standard cannons could.

And just when I thought I couldn't experience more idiocy from the ridiculously delusional part of ME's fanbase, now a tiny ship with a canon that couldn't properly one shot a ship that was scared away eariler by tiny cannons can defeat a Fortress-class...

Anyway back ontopic, this is great news, I was hoping for a release in January.

I agree. The Prisoner was given a lot of for foreshadowing in Cryptium.

Well the location doesn't mean anything in this matter, and I assumed they could be human ships 'cause the page about the book says that it has humans doing something. And I think appearance matters, because every faction has distinguishable style in ships and structures, and those ships don't look like anything I have seen before. (Note the "I" part. If you can show forerunner things with similar design, then I accept the fact that my hypothesis was wrong.)

Of course! few hundred kilotons or weaker won't even scratch the Forerunner's hull... more like laugh at it.

Speaking of Forerunner ships that look like UNSC ships, Look what I found!

I'm not saying that it is a human ship, just that it bears a striking resemblance to one.

Some Humans could have escaped the genocide. Or it could be a flashback to the HF war.

The site linked in the OP says that humans are in the book, and they do something.
