Does anyone else's Bungie.net say Flawless.Bungie.net in the address bar?

Not unless I type that in...

It's a subdomain of bungie.net; if you don't know how you got onto said subdomain then you probably just clicked on a users link who happened to be using flawless.bungie.net.

There's no difference between bungie.net and flawless.bungie.net.

There is no difference between the two just like:

Admin.Bungie.net
http://seventhcolumn.bungie.net
http://beta.bungie.net

Actually, admin.Bungie.net is for moderators and employees. That sub domain of the website has moderator tools built in, but we can't see them since we don't have the privileges. That's why admin.bungie.net is usually slower to load then normal Bnet, since it's loading moderator tools for everyone too, but we can't use them.

EDIT: Haha sam. <3

There's actually a difference between admin.bungie.net and the rest of the subdomains.
That difference is that it is marginally slower for normal members to use because it checks if the members are moderators on a page by page basis (or so I've been told.)
Admin.bungie.net is what the mods use to enable their powers.

EDIT: Damn it Rollin.

Incorrect sir. If there was no difference then there would be no reason to have these multiple domains.
Just because you don't know what it's for doesn't mean that it doesn't do anything.

  • 07.19.2011 8:30 AM PDT

Interestingly enough, most of those "subdomains" are actually aliases which just point to bungie.net (and therefore the same IP address). There is only one (that I know of) which points to a separate address.

I grew up playing your games Bungie, and I sure as hell am looking forward to whatever you decide to do next.

I agree. Just because there is no determinable difference to a normal user, doesn't mean these sub-domains have no purpose. I for one would like to know what "flawless" is used for.

"Bungie.net was created in 05 May 2008 and hosted by Unknown"

... Huh?
I'm pretty sure Bungie.net was created sometime in 1995 under Bungie.com and then put online under Bungie.net sometime around 2000 or 2001.
Even my join date is before 05 May 08.

Yes, that would've been about the time that the New Hawtness was in conceptual stage. Virtually everything is liquid at that point and the site was probably re-registered as a Bungie asset instead of a Microsoft asset or some such BS.

That aside, Bungie.net is definitely worth more than $180,000. The reason being that the Bungie Store is funneled through a different site, but they are ultimately hosted by the same people. So you would also have to bring that into account as well since all of the merchandise is reached through Bungie.net, for the most part.
