Just like the number of licks it takes to get to the center of a Tootsie Pop, the world may never know...except Bungie.

And UNSC ground vehicles are named after, wait for it, land animals (Warthog, Mongoose, Scorpion). Aircraft are named after birds and insects (Hornet, Falcon, Pelican) and Spacefighers/Bombers are named after swords (Sabre, Longsword, Shortsword). Old news is old.

Well aren't does nicknames for the covenant by the humans since the covenant didn't had a language translater. I think the only reason there named by does names is by their actions. For example, would grunts be really called grunts? If their that stupid, maybe lol

δόξει τις ἀμαθεῖ σοφὰ λέγων οὐκ εὖ φρονεῖν.

Euripides, Bacchae. 480.

I only realised this many years ago. Thanks, OP.

She walks around and makes beaver noises.
What sound does a beaver make?
Wait...it's not a beaver. It's an otter noise.

I noticed the Covenant naming, but I never really rendered the UNSC naming... Thanks.
