learn to read (i'm certain that's the language you understand):
Noone said cortana updated the armour without waking chief, the user you quoted said "cortana woke chief".
the cod-piece is missing. there's a story behind it. like you said yourself: no (hardware) upgrade possible while in cryo.

gotcha, now - if i may make a wish: (EDIT: please!) stfu or change your tone.

There is no upgrade regardless; what could cortana upgrade him with? they are in the middle of space, the only thing i could see her giving him is stardust

+ the ignored fact of, Why would there be any upgrades to MJOLNIR in the Forward Unto Dawn?

I mean, any upgrades would be outfitted on chief prior to the damn mission to the Ark.

Which i have been pretty much saying the whole time but people just like to argue without any knowledge now.

@accordingto343

Your one stop shop for all of 343's fabulous errors and ridiculous notions in the Halo lore.

And seriously, we expect the scientists of the UNSC to achieve huge scientific breakthroughs that would make MK.VII armor a possibility in a span of barely a month? No.

"On the seventh day, god did not rest, but rather he created 64 player multiplayer!"

John always had thruster packs if you look at the things by his shoulders they were always there he just never needed to use them.

But they were never listed as a feature in Catherine's journal.

What is the date on that entry that explains the armor features?

hi... if you know me, hi again. If you don't know me, check out my file share...

That is a possibility. But if you are going off of the teaser trailer, it's not the case. When John wakes up, he is wearing a "graphically enhanced" version of the Mark VI. He picks up a jet pack, and escapes the ship. When he returns to the battle, he receives the Mark VII. So your right and wrong.

1. he is wrong.

2. it isn't a jet pack.

3. why the hell did you bring this back up?

It has to be Mark 7.

Have you seen the cover art for the game?

His helmet looks like Mark VI on steroids.

Weapon of Oppression

Why the blaming hell would there be armor upgrade on the Forward Unto Dawn ? Don't you guys think it would've been plot relevent in halo 3 for someone to have told him about it earlier ?

Artistic lisence people, simple as that.
You guys are hard headed.
None of the scenes in that cgi trailer is really canon or fact.

Bar that the Forward Unto Dawn rear half will float toward the planet.

Anyway, you've stated what I've been trying to say to these theoriests all this time. If Mark VII(or ANY MJOLNIR upgrade) was stashed on the Forward Unto Dawn for some stupid reason, why wouldn't they equip Master Chief with it before going to the Ark?

Super Halo Fan & Graphics Designer.
