Subject: So what will Spartans do after the war?

"It will not be we who reach Alpha Centauri, and the other nearby stars, it will be a species very like us, but with more of our strengths and fewer of our weaknesses, more confident, far-seeing, capable, and prudent. For all our failings, despite our limitations and fallibilities, we humans are capable of greatness."-Carl Sagan

Did Oni ever think of this? It would be really hard to imagine John retiring and doing nothing, he was build for war and so were his Spartans.

So what they are just going to go, "Here's your 30 years worth of wages, have a nice life."

After a war as long as that I think the Innie numbers will be small and they will lack intelligence, motivation and have little influence.

All the outer colonies are burnt to a cinder, they won't make a comeback.

*looks at guerrilla groups after almost every war.*

How do you think groups like the -blam!- started up?

Well if we say there aren't any Innies, either Cryo sleep them all or attempt to intergrate them into society, those would be the most logical choices, if any survived the war that is.

Cobra let's take this from a what if scenario and say that there aren't any innies.

However illogical it may be.

I just can't really. But if I must. Perhaps ONI may try to do some breeding projects with whatever functioning Spartan-IIs and IIIs are left. I'm certain they are watching Maria.

Maria is a Spartan in a weird, weird situation.

She left with the intent of having children. I wonder if she actually had them, Spartan 2.1s.

John as a drill instructor.

That would be fun to watch.

Jesus loves you! But I think you're a -blam!-

Haha I always thought of this too. If I was a Spartan after the war, I'd keep my armor and go start a bar fight.

Far too much money not to mention this is more of ONI's time to shine by getting as much covenant and forerunner tech they can.

There really isn't a need for spartans at a moment

Ships> spartans

Yeah the smart thing to do is forget about Spartans for the time being and spend money and resources rebuilding worlds and cities and constructing an uncostly defense.

Or use the Spartans as extra manpower for reconstruction.

Which makes them carpenters not spartans not to mention squandering their talents and grossly mis-using them.

They are roughly 1,000 spartans unaccounted for anyway so how about they officially die or comeback and we just keep using them.

They will be decommissioned and be sold as scrap metal.

We should know better, because we are better.

That is assuming they survive long enough for any amount of peace. Born soldiers like Spartans will die in war. It is an almost guaranteed certainty. ONI never intended them to survive long enough for them to become a normal member of society. They were born for war and they will die for it.

Innies have their own hidden colonies either outside or what was human controlled space, check out Halo Evolutions Preston Cole, they speculate he defected to them during the war.
