Tall People Rock

Started my gaming career on an N64, blowing up stuff with StarFox and jumping through paintings with Mario.

Progressed to a GameCube; endless hours battling with Link on Super Smash Bros (Up B = win)

Got my xbox...played Halo. Instantly became a "fanboy" God knows how many hours finding every glitch, easter egg, and "omfgdidyouseethat" moment. From there, I was helpless. Battled through Halo 2 (freaking out when the screen turned black after "Finishing this fight...."), went to the midnight release of Halo 3, ODST, and Reach.

I guess the thing that kills me is that I see "my" series get trashed? I come on here whenever I have time, and I see people bickering about pointless crap...Trolling one another, complaining that Bungie somehow betrayed us...I just don't get it. Reach, I'll admit, could've been better. But it was still a Halo game, and that was enough for me.

I've jumped on the rooftops of sniper alley on legendary, been killed by those damn auto-turrets outside of the Control Room, listened to the hysterical raving of 3 suicidal marines...I've 4-shotted 50's, been t-bagged by recruits, and screamed in frustration over being betrayed for grabbing the sniper rifle...and I couldn't be happier about it.

Call me whatever you want, but I'm one of those gamers who is starting to look back at Halo and wish I could do it all again. College, girlfriend, work, internship, all of these responsibilities adding up that takes me away from my xbox...Makes me hope that whatever is left in this franchise is enough to bring back that old magic.

Random, I know, but I figured if anyone else felt this way/understood, it would be you guys. Cheers

lol I'm a waiter at Outback Steakhouse; not exactly my career of choice. Being a double major is the bane of my existence at the moment

I feel the same. I'm 22, I have an internship right now, and I drudge on each day, thinking about getting home and getting on my 360. And when I do, it's my saving grace, in fact it always has. Don't have to think about all the people/dbags I have to deal with at work and school, and I can just let go.

I started out playing on PC when I was around 4 or 5 with my dad, and my first fps (maybe even game): Wolfenstein 3D. Dubbed by many as the first 'real/modern fps' game ever. Killin' -blam!-s, such an epic game, simple, but really fun. By id software. Then I moved on to DOOM, Duke Nukem 3D, played Quake a little, all on PC.

Then I got a N64, first games I played: Mario 64, Goldeneye, Zelda OoT, Mortal Kombat Trilogy, and then Conkers Bad Fur Day and Perfect Dark.

Progressed to a PS2 and played a whole slew of games, loved my PS2. Then I heard about this 'Xbox', was kind of iffy of it, and of course clung to my PS2 and defended it. Heard of some of my friends playing this game called 'Halo' in 6th grade, and when I first played it, I fell in love with it.. Multiplayer system link with your friends, 4 on 4 with 2 big screen TVs on Sidewinder, those days were just golden..wish I could relive all that.

Then I had to move on..Got a 360 mainly because I wanted, no NEEDED Halo 3. Finished the fight, and found interest in many other games, and can safely call myself a nerd. But it's been fun.

Anyways, that's just my story in gaming in a nutshell.

Try taking part in a sport. It'll improve you all physically and mentally and you'll get team mates and maybe some real life friends. Xbox is for rainy days only not a substitute for social skills.

you are a good translator
Idiot can be a hard language to learn, but once you get it down, everything becomes so clear! The whole world will make sense to you.

I game all the time and I have a thriving social life.

I'm not sure why you needed to post this here as well, though.

Vengeance only leads to an ongoing cycle of hatred.

I really dislike Reach because of the canonical errors and the casual-catered multiplayer. But, just because somebody doesn't like one of the Halo games doesn't automatically make them not a fan. I have nostalgia for Halo 3's hay day. I played and loved Halo 3 more then any other game. I'd like to do that over again. Believe me. Just not Reach. I hope the new trilogy gives me nostalgia like Halo 3 does.
