Subject: how could bungie leave us and halo?

"I wanted to make people happy, if only for an hour."
-Busby Berkley

RIP Halo 2

Yeah. Who do these guys think they are? Some kind of video game developer? Like we haven't heard that one before.

You're asking people to state which non-released game they like better?

It's like asking a virgin whether they like being on top or on bottom.

Well, good thing I don't plan on asking you.

Because the exact details on how and why Microsoft got the Halo IP when Bungie went independent is public knowledge.
Microsoft has owned the Halo IP since pretty early on in the development of the first game.

I wouldn't say "early." Originally Halo was a 3rd Person shooter, being developed for the mac. But, Bill Gates put his foot down on that plan.

No, it was originally an RTS, not a 3rd-person shooter.

I like shorts. They're comfy and easy to wear.

I find this oddly reminiscent of Majora's Mask.

But seriously, Bungie didn't leave us. You should decide on whether or not to buy their new game based on its merits, and not on any perceived sense of betrayal.

Although true, if Halo was ever going to be an RTS it wouldn't be "Halo." The 3rd person shooter is based off the trailer Steve Jobs originally released to the public. Then Microsoft bought the IP and it was changed to a 1st person shooter for the Xbox.

Old school Bungie, born and raised,
In the Septagon is where I spend most of my days.
Relaxin', maxin', posting all cool,
Talking about Halo, life and some school.
Got in one little argument, and the mods got scared,
they said "You're gonna get banned and your member title'll be bare!"

The business plan of Bungie Studios has been to revolutionize gaming. They did this with the FPS genre with Halo repeatedly.

Bruce Lee once said "If you don't keep pushing yourself, you might as well die, because there's nothing more to live for."

This is exactly the kind of vision Bungie is attempting to hold on to. If they don't keep reaching, pushing themselves to do better and do great in areas they haven't yet mastered.

Bungie is going back to school, because they've done what they've come to do, and to continue on the same path would be a journey of stagnation and monotony, not one of grandeur and progress befitting of a AAA developer.

Everytime someone sacks my groceries, I think of Loaf.

:/ I liked ODST. It was a more mature game with different elements.
