What nuke button? I know nothing of such a device.

*suspiciously walks away*

The flood is going down this time!

I killed him in the face!

Carpet banning would only weaken their structure.

We. Must. Nuke.

This thread is awesome.

I have always wanted to see the Forum Nuke activated and watch what happens.

I'm still new to the forums, so I hadn't made my first visit to The Flood up until I read this thread. And I have to say...

You should press it.

I've recently heard of it in a thread from the flood called "I'm gonna get banned again"

I don't understand, what is this... nuke button?

It should certainly be used more often if it's what I think it is, it seems the people discussing it in "I'm gonna get banned again" didn't learn anything.
The nuke button is on Tom's keyboard.

It is possible to commit no errors and still lose. That is not a weakness. That is life.

Cheeto is the only one among you that doesn't suck.

This thread stinks of new kids. The Flood is the same as it always has been. It's full retard, but it's not getting better or worse. They're never going to nuke it. Ever.

I run Skirmish!!!

the flood forum needs a disclaimer before posting and then anyone out of line gets a perma-ban. problem solved

I've been saying it for awhile now; Stricter rules/longer bans for the Flood.

People just don't learn.

They could also be referring to a carpet ban, where many people in one thread get banned.

This tends to happen a lot...

I hate you unless I'm drunk.

The signal-noize ratio for the flood... is disappointing.
Since the rules have changed people have forgotten that b.net is a DISCUSSION board. I used to spend a lot of time there, but its becoming increasingly difficult to find quality threads.
Less discussion is taking place and more 'games' and stuff are getting posted.

Now, don't get me wrong, some games are fine, but more people are acting like its their own personal 'lets dump our crap here' and less talking actually discussing things.

There have always been trolls and spam, but people just keep pushing the boundaries.
Idk. I just kind of feel that the flood is only a shadow of what it was before the rule change. The rule change was great for most of the forums, but I think it just hurt the flood.

It's not a matter of being more strict, it's just a matter of having more active mods.

The rules are already strict enough.

The mods are active. But they're just like you and I. They don't moderate by sight, they moderate from the queue. When they see a thread, ya they'll lock and ban as needed but they don't actively go around and search for it. Honestly, would you want to spend every second on this site going around looking for people to ban and threads to lock? It'd be no longed 'fun'. They're here for the same reasons we are.

Achronos has thrown around the idea of "nuking" the Flood, getting rid of it completely. They could also be referring to a carpet ban, where many people in one thread get banned.

As long as they don't pour into the Universe form...
To be fair, it can't get much worse in there.

The forum hardly serves its purpose anymore. I can tell you for a fact that the vast majority of competent canonfgts (myself included) migrated offsite.
Look at it now, people still post ZOMG JOYN MAI CLANN threads and many are the questions are pretty inane.
About a year ago, I posted scientific theories to how energy shields work, how the Halo teleportation network operated and tried and failed to explain slipspace.

I come back now, the best discussion of canon I can find that isn't the "canon is broken" megathread is "can SPARTANS float?".

You're right, people in the Flood don't learn.

They really dont its like theyre some kind of one minded mass of trolling idiots. I used to frequent the flood....I really dont go in there anymore, out of fear that i might not come back...

Whenever i do look at threads in the flood, i just end up going like this, or more often just like this

Yeah, why don't we not talk about the rest of our community this way...i'm an active participant in the Flood, and it's a great way for the Bungie community to connect on terms irrelevant to the games themselves, and it's a good tool to learn about the community without having games being a precedent. If Bungie nuked the flood, I would lose the great amount of respect I had for them. I don't think they would do such a thing.

1. The Flood is it's own community; A nation within a nation, so to speak.
2. I am actually a little annoyed that people want to nuke the flood for little reason...
3. Where would all the flood users go? think about it.
