every time we complete a lvl well take a break from it as id expect and post us doin the lvl and use can see what we do to pass the difficult areas
Yeah, you can pause for as long as you want.

Heh, I better put a disclaimer out; Mythic means all skulls on so if you want to make sure then get IWHBYD skull. There is no official provision of leaving out a skull, even if it does nothing. I don't want to get the daddy skull because my only checkpoint is just after the first wave, which sucks. So you do what you feel will be accepted and the only undeniable way is to get them all.

Yeah, you could pause and download one level at a time if you are using a camera or use a capture card, then you could do the whole thing. When Cody Miller filmed H2 Legendary with no deaths he did it all in one sitting, about 3 hours.

No no no, he played it legit, I watched it. There's a site called highspeedhalo.net and they send the submitted vids off to an independent group who will beak down the vid frame by frame. Believe you me, if they say a vid is legit, that vid is legit. Anybody who tries to fool them will get caught. I think Cody's vid made it into Guinness, that's what I heard anyway.

Go to HSH and look around, those speedfreaks are the best of the best and ask about submitting an H2 SLASO run.

Lol, that's what I've been saying alright. But sayin and doin is two different things. There's a reason nobody has done it yet.

I'm not saying you'll make Guinness, but the magnitude of this undertaking will become apparent to you as you play and if you do succeed and pass the submittal process (about 2 weeks) you will have flowers strewn your way and 72 virgins waiting for you in Nirvana.

  • 07.21.2011 10:52 PM PDT

I tell you what, here's the place where you will make your submittal and here's Cody's vid. Look around HSH and you'll get a better idea of what you must do in order to even submit a vid.

People need to accept that Halo 2 SLASO is the most challenging and most difficult task to accomplish that the entire Halo series has to offer.

This.

I think it is the greatest challenge in video game history.

How'd you handle:

-the first hangar on Cairo Station
-the battle in Cairo Station's bomb room
-the tunnel on Metropolis
-the jackal sniper and gaggles of Grunts on Outskirts at the area that is after the crashed Pelican

You can't bypass any of these on Mythic.

-Nade the first group of baddies. Pick up a PP with your BR. Go back to the upper level. Nade grunts and PP elites with full charge then headshot them with BR(repeat over and over). Only jump down to get another PP. When they blast through the door hide behind the far crate on the floor and spam all nades and BR, they should all die because they are in a tight cluster.

-Pick up a PR and a BR along with as many nades as possible before going in. Stay in the dark hallway that's right near the door the whole time. Take out the grunts with BR first then target one elite at a time. It takes around two full charges of plasma rifle to take out their shields then you can BR them. You'll need to pick up a PP later because you will run out of ammo so you can either juggle one in from previously or lure a grunt into the back.

-For the tunnel, the best thing to do it grab the BR and a sniper. Take out the first grunt behind the bus with the BR and juggle the sniper with the PP all the way down the tunnel. Use the PP/BR combo on elites and the BR or nades on grunts and drones. For ghosts and turrets use the sniper. If you can't snipe grunts out of ghosts, you aren't ready for LASO. You'll run out of ammo for the sniper so pick up a PP and nade the vehicles.

-This part isn't too difficult. Simply grab the sniper from Jhonson and give him your SMG then get out of the map. From there you can snipe whoever you want and grab a sword then walk all the way to the zanzibar hotel.

@JB no video. I don't have a PVR or any way to record. to the upper level.

Posted by: BR131For the tunnel part, I'm not talking about Outskirts. I'm talking about Metropolis. How did you get past the tunnel (including the Zealot and the various Jackal snipers stationed in the next area)? Did you bypass the bridge fights with the Warthog or Ghost or did you take the Scorpion?

As for your plasma rifle statement, you're about right. It takes 2 full charges + 1-2 bolts of the plasma rifle to take out a Mythic Ultra Elite's shield.

So when did you complete the levels on Mythic?

Sorry man, you never mentioned anything about how you recharge. The whole SLASO challenge revolves around how you get health. Every step of the way you have to plot where you get health so I expected you to mention that detail.

I've never been able to hide behind the crates in the bomb room, they all come looking for you and the Grunts toss nades like a machine gun thanks to catch and with Sputnik the cover does not stay for long. The only place I can hide in there is to stay in the elevator and pop in and out. Plus I had trouble getting health in there because there's only one Marine for fodder.

Perhaps you did the unthinkable, perhaps not but there's no way to prove or disprove. I cannot believe someone beat H2 SLASO without a word about the difficulties of working with BE, there is nothing more important.

Good choice (you can't rush the bridge with the Warthog because you'll be killed by the first group of Covey infantry), but what about after the tunnel part?

The Jackal snipers will tear your Warthog/Ghost up, not to mention that there are up to 8 (if I recall correctly) Jackal snipers that will replace a Jackal sniper if he's killed so taking them out is not an option. Also, the Gauss Warthog usually gets destroyed. Even if you managed to bypass them, how did you get past the Wraith, 2 Jackal snipers, and 2 Ghosts?

Also, how did you take out the 2 Banshees with the Scorpion? The cannon sends them flying real far back and they're difficult to kill with it.

Never, I got annihilated at some point in every level except two. I made it through OS and QZ by running scared and dying 500 times, not by fighting. Heh, I don't think I fired one shot on either.

It's all about patience. I'd take at minimum 15 minutes a room. For rooms with vehicles, more around 25. It took me hours for each level, and that's just when I got it finished. I used to spend hour after hour playing on legendary with no skulls just to find the best routes through the levels.
When I got to the tunnel I got out of the tank and cleaned it up on foot. You will be destroyed if you try to go through.

After the tunnel I took out the jackal standing there and I took his beam rifle. From there I took out the snipers(you have to memorize their locations) and I think the beam rifle was out of ammo so I got in the gauss hog and you can easily kill the grunts/elites if Jhonson isn't being a douche. You can time when the ghosts come down by the time that you destroy them. I took out the two snipers and the elite by the far door first with the gauss(yes you need to be that good of a shot). Next you have to focus on the wraith. The gauss is probably your best shot because you need the rockets for the ghosts. Assuming you got the wraith destroyed, use the rockets and nades to destroy the ghosts, then get in the gauss hog and haull ass out of there.

With the banshees use the rocket launcher that one of the marines have. You have to pick and choose your targets though or you'll run out of ammo and be stuck.

And I have told people. Mainly friends who don't really get what I did...
