go to your local arts and crafts store, a popular one in my area is Michaels, ask a lady to show you where the t-shirts and iron-on transfer paper is.
and depending on whether you want white shirts or colored shirts, you buy light transfer paper for white, and maybe gray or yellow could still work, idk dont blame me if it doesnt. and dark-paper for colored shirts. and also if u have ink or laser printer, it matters.
find a image online, photoshop skills will help a lot so if you or someone else who know could help you. convert it to 300 resolution(alt+control+I) and i and make sure it fits on a 11x 8.5 paper, a easy way is to do make a new image on photoshop using those mesurements and move the image layers to the 11x8.5 and get it where you want. print it, cut it out. for light, i recommend you cut it out in a zigzag fashion around the words if its not a full image. for color shirts, try and fill the background with the background of the shirt so it can blend. otherwize try get a full image so you just have to cut out edges, because any white that you leave on the paper will be on the shirt unless you cut it out.
wash your shirts first inside out. preheat iron on highest setting, and follow directions on your paper that you bought. when you finish wait a few days as the instructions say, wash the shirts seperately and on cold for the first time being washed.
and do more research online.
