its me again! and i found that big blue screen that came up and then the comp restarted...

it says:

"A problem has been detected and Windows has been shut down to prevent damage to your computer.

If this is the first time youve seen this stop error screen, restart your computer. If this screen appears again, follow these steps:

Check to make sure you have adequate disk space. If a driver is identified in the Stop message, disable the driver or check with the manufacturer for driver updates.

Try changing video adapters.

Check with you hardward vendor for any BIOS updates. Disable BIOS memory options such as caching or shadowing. If you need to use Safe Mode to remove or disable components, restart your computer, press F8 to select Advanced Startup Options, and then select Safe Mode.

Tech. Info:

***Stop: 0x0000008E (0xc0000005, 0cBFA313E9, 0xA835D5F8, 0c00000000)

***ati3d1ag.dll-address BFA313E9, base at BF9ED000, Datestamp 3d5c7519"

thats what it said... HELP ME OUT!!!

It's your computer that has the error...not HPC. Sorry, I'm no expert, I just know some of the principles; call in tech support. That's your best bet.

I used to get stop errors every once in a while (unrelated to Halo) and solved my problem by flashing my BIOS. You could try this, but definitely read the instructions first, as an improperly flashed BIOS will make your computer into a nice big paperweight. ;) Also, ensure that your computer is not overheating. I've also encountered stop errors like this when overclocking my hardware without proper cooling measures.

If you built your computer yourself, you can find BIOS updates at your motherboard manufacturer's website. If you bought a prefab computer, your chances of finding a BIOS update are slim. Check the support site for the computer you bought (e.g. Dell, Gateway, etc.) and look in the downloads section, if there is one.

Again, this is a very risky operation. Be very sure you know what you're doing by reading any and all documentation that comes with the BIOS flash tool and the BIOS data file. Usually this is a last-ditch effort in troubleshooting. Make sure you've eliminated all other possibilities before doing this.
