Does anyone have lotion?
*Raises hand*
Is mayonnaise a lotion?

By the way before I begin I know that this should go in the Bungie Universe or Bungie.net community forums but those are dead. This is kind of off topic anyways. I'll start now.

Ok long story short, If you have read the books, you know that Gage Yevgenny crashed a pelican, and was soon greeted by an ODST.

Using that article I linked earlier, I learned that that ODST was The Rookie AKA "JD", or James.

My question is that where is there concrete proof that this is The Rookie? Anyone know?

Thanks.

Slow Down. Since when is his name James?

Read the wiki.

I also heard it in ODST a while ago.

Where in the wiki does it say this? Also, the wiki isn't always a reliable source.

Linked in the OP where it says The Rookie.

But I also heard the easter egg they mention in that wiki, so...

Nope. While Buck does say James in ODST, nothing has been confirmed.

He's in the Halo Evolutions short story "Dirt".

More info here.

EDIT: Wait, you knew that. Also, I heard that Frankie confirmed it was the same Rookie from Halo 3 ODST somewhere. Can't remember.

"This Marine was recently transferred from the 26th MEF, part of a Rapid Offensive Picket that suffered near-annihilation at New Jerusalem, Cygnus. Like most ODSTs, his actions speak louder than words."

I found this in The Rookies profile at the Halo 3 ODST page on Bungie.net. It is under Personnel

Also, I see no evidence (other than wiki) of Buck saying "Keep it steady James."

Does it say that when the supposed Rookie goes up to Yevgenny?

By the way sorry for the long reply, I did something.

Not sure if his name is James but it was confirmed that the ODST that listened to Yevgenny's story is Rookie from Halo: ODST.

I'm pretty sure the part where Buck says Keep it steady James is just a saying. I don't think his name is James.

I wake up to find myself
After all these years
And where all the time has gone
Still seems so unclear

You guys ever heard of calling your driver James or Jeeves? It's just a figure of speech, not necessarily his name.

Favorite video game series: Professor Layton or Half-Life
Favorite video game: Super Mario Galaxy
Favorite movie series: Pixar (It's not really a series, but I just can't pick.)
Favorite movie: Inception

Actually, I believe his name is James Dante, JD. James because of what Buck said, and Dante because of how much ODST was based on the Divine Comedy.

JD stands for John Doe, the name given to males who people either don't know his identity, or it is top secret.
