We all know that Xbox Live is currently infested with little kids, racists, homophobes, and just overall, morons.

I doubt the PC version of Halo 2 will have as many idiots, because not a lot of people can afford a computer fast enough to run Halo 2 decently. More money required=less little kids.

Do you think that Halo 2 on the PC should have built-in VOIP?

I say yes. One of the few things I liked about Halo 2 on the Xbox, was the ease of communication. I will be very dissapointed if Halo 2 on the PC doesn't have built-in voice chat.

This game is way too team oriented NOT to have voice chat.

Yes, there should definately be Voice Chat however there should also be a mute option or something so you don't have to listen to all the immature language. Also there needs to be a "push to talk" so we don't have to hear the delay echo and background noise.

Oh yeah, it needs it badly. Since everyone will be on Vista, I see no reason why it shouldn't have its own VOIP program.

I often think voice communication would be nice, but then wonder if I want to hear some 11-year-old kid trash talking after pwning me. Maybe if it made us all sound like cyborgs so you couldn't tell.

It would definitly change team play. Players willing to listen to each other would rule against independents working alone.

You echo my sentiments exactly. I was utterly disappointed when I used the voice chat option on H2. I want to play a game, not listen to a bunch of morons. For H2PC I would suggest a way to turn off voice communication in the middle of the game (rather than before the game as in H2 XBox.) I'm sure 'ol billy and crew will think of something

Without a doubt. You can't have Halo 2 without voice chat. I've heard that you could have Halo 1 with voice chat, too, though. It's not supported, by Bungie or Gearbox, or anything like that, but there's a way to do it...

Tell me if I'm wrong.

I hate using Vent and Teamspeak. They run in the background and eat up system resources. That, and you have to tell each of your teammates the IP address, which is annoying.

Yes, Voice Chat is good but what you mean with homophobics?
People that don't like -blam!- (not me)
Or people that if some guy starts saying, "hello baby" or something gets totally pissed and starts killinh him (me)

Heyyo,

Definately built in VOIP. I doupt it'll be as extensive as the one in UT2k4, but at least a decent one. I hear the one in H2Xbox is pretty good cause you can hear what the enemy says if you're close enough, that sounds pretty sweet.

Homophobic= people who go around saying everything they don't like is "g@y", like when you kill them with a rocket instead of a pistol, yoy're "g@y", then you pistol them, and they still call you "g@y."

Meh, VoIP isn't that big a deal anymore anyway, everything and its mother has it. I just use TeamSpeak anyway because nothing ingame can match the quality of Speex on full whack.

They should also have a squelch option, i mean in Halo PC now i hear some people that are just annyoing and cant shut up, so if you could squelch them by their name or their "account" and choose to unsquelch them later, or not, they hsould also have the original chat,

I forgot the exact URL, so search on Google for "TeamSpeak" or "Ventrilio".

It's sorta outdated now. Go use Xfire's voicechat instead for H1PC communication needs.
