You do have a very valid point there. There are too many half good guitarists and drummers who only play rock, and think they're good cause they can do the simplest of techniqes. Yet we are in short supply of jazz guitarists and drummers. Also classical, granted guitar is not thought of a classical instrument it can be, and drums definitely are. Such as snare, bass, and auxilary percussion. Are there too many guitarists/drummers who can only play rock, yes. Are there too many guitarists'drummers who can actually play, no.
(I have been playing drums for 5 years, I play rock,jazz,swing,latin,blues,snare,bass,and percussion in general. I also have played the clarinet for 4 years).
