I've had 3 groups of mine die and the next two are just about to.

What are we supposed to be discussing here?

"Nothing in the 'Verse can stop me."

I think that this may just be the groups you're in. I'm in some groups with 300+ members and they seem fine.

I run a group more active than this forum. They're hardly dead.

Because is the place where all the tools can go to feel welcome.

poor ilitch

Nah, there are still lots of groups thriving.

  • 07.24.2011 5:27 PM PDT

Does anyone even read these?

Groups tend to be more like smaller communities rather than just another forum. A community doesn't really die unless you never had one in the first place.

I'm not sure if you guys would agree with that but that's how it's been for me.

I lol'd at the absurd miscommunication that occurs whenever dibbs post something. Perhaps his brain is so highly evolved that he can no longer clearly communicate with lesser life forms, even among his own species.

Repent. The end is nigh.

Certain "in" groups are still thriving. Always have been. There are a few that rise and fall over the years, with waxing and waning member activity being the main cause. My estimate would be less than 25% of groups fall into the above categories. The rest, are just garbage that no one really pays attention to.

  • 07.24.2011 6:28 PM PDT

Some of the more active groups have gone onto different sites, and created their own forums.

The only thing I am going to say (because I don't want to be "recruiting") is that there are some private groups that thrive and are very much alive.

Yo Halo53, I'm real happy for you and I'ma let you finish, but Beyonce had one of the best bungie.net profiles of all time. OF ALL TIME!

Most private groups only have a limited lifespan, but as those die, other ones are born. You just gotta keep an eye out for the newer ones

It's a metaphor for the 07s' lack of identity. too old to be newfag, yet too new to be oldfag, we wander b.net in search of a home, forever trying to be something we are not.

Good call, because everyone here knows that even the most benign mention of a Private Group is considered recruiting, right boys? ;)

BTW, hello Community Forum, it's been a while. How have you been?

You weren't here when the SV threads showed up were you? If not don't worry, it isn't worth repeating, but it just goes to show that once people start name dropping groups... it turns out ugly.

I completely agree. I joined a BNet group turned off-site forum and it's still alive after4 years. We're lucky is we have 50 active members but the sense of community and friendship is enough.

I'm sorry America is busy helping others in the world and actually making a difference.

Something Canada will never do.

Vengeance only leads to an ongoing cycle of hatred.

Check out The Catalyst or the Dark Rogue Spartans. Two good, active groups.

I was the 2nd to last person to get kicked off Halo 2, see the thread Here

Most of them are. There are only a select few that aren't dead and won't die. I'll PM you some active ones.
