Subject: How long before we're allowed to use personal avatars?

I don't always ban people but when I do I laugh uncontrollably...that's if I was a Forum Ninja.

Truth is a matter of perception.

The Button

The Flood isn't ready to have personal Avatars...

OT: Get coup and you can have whatever Avatar(s) you want.

I spend too much time here.. too much time indeed.

I tweet?

While I'm of the opinion that custom avatars wouldn't be as big as of a problem as people try to make it out to be, I am an advocate towards the system staying as it is. I just like how simplistic things are around here.

And as for IP Banning, that should never be a solution. Circumventing IP bans is actually impressively easy and could very well end in collateral damage. I've seen some huge -blam!-ups resulting from IP banning.

easily dealt with.
Easily dealt with? Sure. But after how long of an interval? And after how many alternate accounts will they stop? And how many individuals (it isn't as low a number of people as I would have liked). It's a shame the few ruin it for the rest of us, but that's how it goes.

Have you ever been on any other forums? People who abuse avatars of their choice are really easy to deal with. Bungie needs to start IP banning so it's not so easy to make alt accounts.

What are we supposed to be discussing here?

"Nothing in the 'Verse can stop me."

Lolnever.

Custom avvys would be hard to regulate and there is no way a community this large can be trusted with them.

Trying something once will increace your chances of success, because you tried it. Try someting twice, and your chances increase yet again - seeing as you've done it. Try something a few thousand times, and your chances of success is exponentially increased; this increase would likely provide success every time

There isn't much elitism on this site, surprisingly. Considering we have titles that everyone thought would segregate us into groups. Has it? No. But it's one hell of a way to get people to willingly behave and be invested in their profiles. The avatars would just be another way influence behavior.

We don't need anymore elitism than we already have.

...the population is only going to increase when the PS3 users join us...

I don't mean to be rude or discriminating but I wish they couldn't come on here. I like Xbox discussion and when they come there's probably going to be many people who don't quite understand the use of the bungie.net forums and will just clutter off topic posts into already active forums. Still, gotta be fair and give 'em a chance though!
