Here is a list of the reasons why...
1. Lack of mod tools and tag editors, they're worse than their console equivalents
2. Ridiculous system req. for a console game and pointless requirements like Vista
3. Unexplained issue's with Windows 7, works with some and not with others
4. Mouse lag with anything higher than 60fps, one of the few games on PC where using a controller is actually better thanks to the ridiculous auto-aim
5. Missing basic features, no online co op, no ranks and leaderboards for the competitive players
6. Lack of support, MS completly abandoned Halo 2 and refuse to acknowledge it.
Im sure there are plenty more reasons people could add to that list, to answer your question, there is only 50-60 players online at any given time, there's no MM so expect to play alot of Coagulation and Lockout. Halo 2 had so much potential but the fact is, it's really only fun for the hardcore Halo 2 fans who just want to play Halo 2.
