Will the maps coming with CEA be just from combat evolved or from 1-3? I've seen a lot of people saying different things about it.
Thanks

Now, in the quantum moment before the closure, when all become one. One moment left. One point of space and time.

I know who you are.

You are Destiny.

Supposedly there's going to be about 6+ maps from Halo: CE *crosses fingers for PC maps*. I know for a fact there's not going to be any Halo 3 maps. As for Halo 2; it's a possibility, but not likely.

THATS MY COOL MAN I CAN'T TAKE IT OFF!

It's 6 multiplayer maps and one firefight map. I guess Frankie said one of the maps will be from Halo 2 (although that could very well just be Beaver Creek), and the others from CE.

Unlikely. The maps obviously Beaver Creak, but Beaver Creek is a remake itself afterall. I don't think he'd make a big deal out of it if that was the map he was referring to.
What's been confirmed

Damnation
Hang 'Em High
Beaver Creek
Timberland (Halo PC map)

None of the maps will be from Halo 3, and they've yet to reveal the Halo 2 map (if I'm right about this).

There's one thing I still don't understand concerning the Halo: CEA maps. Will we be able to play them on the current Team Slayer playlist, so we can use AAs and the normal Reach weapons, etc.? Or will they ONLY be playable in some sort of classic playlist/format with no AAs?

Here's to hoping Lockout is in. I absolutely love that map IMO it is the best map in multiplayer ever made for the series. Either way, the game looks sweet overall and getting to play Halo: CE online has been my dream ever since I've played Halo: CE back in the day.

Yes, they'll be available everywhere. Supposedly some minor modifications are being made to them to make AAs play better on them. God help 343i if said changes aren't forgeable, though. I want to be able to play vintage Damnation too, not just modified Damnation.

The most overdone map in the franchise this side of Blood Gulch? Yeah no thanks. There's a ton of on-point remakes floating around anyway.

Turf anyone? Yes? No?

Care to name some of the remakes of lockout because I haven't seen any. Guardian doesn't count; that map was not lockout at all and was drastically different to be considered a new map at least by me.

I also hope sidewinder is in. I just loved how big that map was overall; driving in a warthog took a while on that map especially with the pools of icy water on it.

All I want is just lockout touched up a little bit to make it look better with no modifications to the gameplay of it, just like it was in halo 2. If that's included I'll be happy.

On turf. I remember that map from halo 2 it was enjoyable it wasn't the greatest map ever but it wouldn't be bad if it was in. Overall it was a solid map though.

Well I meant in forge, but Blackout was in Halo 3.

No thanks. It was enjoyable but I'd rather have Midship, Prisoner, Chill Out, or Rat Race back for a small map. Plus I hate industrial environments after Reach.

Oh I probably stopped playing halo 3 before blackout came out because I have never played on *blackout* itself with the new skin over lockout essentially from the images I just looked at. As for in the forge I guess a lot of stuff is possible including a remake of lockout. Thanks for clearing that up though.

Bleh. We have enough symmetrical covenant themed maps. Rat Race would be sweet though.

Covenant aesthetics never get old. Industrial environments are so damn boring though.

So how does this make for a more "classic" experience, which I thought Frankie had said was a primary reason for the title update?

Minor modifications could mean a slew of things. Just look at the new Damnation for example; I never saw a reason to force a player to jump through those platforms to reach the other side. It slows down gameplay, and makes them a wide open target. Connecting them to create a pathway seems like a better move for gameplay, AA's or not. 343i knows people aren't exactly happy with AA's. Have faith.
