Is this really worthy of dispute?

We will know soon enough, but it will require thought. Deep thought. Mendicant Bias must be found. The Mantle will soon follow.

Shouldn't have the "spam" filter between posts. It gets annoying. We have been here for a while and have gone a while without being banned. You should trust us more, Bungie ;)

Also, maybe with each "rank up" in title, we get 1 more extra thread? So Heroic would have 8, Legendary 9, and Mythic 10?

I don't see the need for any of the above to be instituted. We don't deserve anything more than our titles, in my opinion, and therefore, these additions seem irrelevant. They'd likely contribute to the general belief that the title system is equivalent to a ranking system. Differently-titled persons don't deserve more than their titles - that's why they're called "titles".

OP - You're a dumbass with the reading comprehension skills of a second grader.

Can someone tell me what's wrong with these two, this made me LOL hard.

No. It's only 30 seconds. If you hit the spam filter, you're posting too much. Ease up on posting and post in something worthy of posting and something that would actually benefit to the discussion.

I've seen regular members act very professional and Mythics that act very childish. Titles are there for fun, not for benefits.

I have a Twitter

Making a large amount of threads is pointless, and the spam filter serves its purpose. Some titled people are still immature.

In my opinion 1-2 threads per day should be enough.

If you're going to make a thread try and make it so as discussion can actually progress.

Furthermore, by making too many threads you are clearly not committed to any particular topic and instead just want to try and progress your title.

Making lots of threads won't get you to Mythic any faster in fact it will work in the opposite way, mods will begin recognising you for the wrong reasons and your spam threads will quickly be locked.

Be a bit more mature about posting on here.

I disagree. That seems a bit of a rash generalization. I'm certain some people would try to exploit such a tactic to increase their title (which seems totally asinine to me, since it's not solely based upon how much you post-- I returned here last night for the first time in a good three months and my title hasn't altered), but some people just have a lot to say. Not necessarily that all of it is terribly worthwhile, but they shouldn't be condemned for rank boosting (or whatever you choose to call it) just for being overambitious. I remember when I first joined (Jesus, five years ago) I was young, naive and excited to find a place to discuss games I loved, so I posted a ton of threads. And this was years before the title system would come into play.

Vengeance only leads to an ongoing cycle of hatred.

That's actually a very good idea. I'm sick of the anti-spam filter. Although, I'm still not a Heroic member yet. I used to be until I got a warning "for no raison". But, whatever.

In the grands scheme of things, the spam filter is essentially a compromise. The vast majority of people will never (or almost never) have problems with it, since the amount of time between posts required to set it off is (relatively) short. For the extreme minority of people who consistently run into problems, it's unfortunate and probably annoying, but statistically speaking, also irrelevant. It's set up the way it is now because the majority will not have a problem with it.

I personally have never had a problem with the filter, and I doubt that I ever will. For those people with malicious intent, the spam filter will always be there as a first line of defense. For those with really fast typing fingers, it's an annoyance you'll just have to live with. Frankly, I'd rather have the filter in place as it is now and minimize the risk of excessive spam on the site.

I make about 1 thread a month... if you triggered the filter there is a reason, you're posting too much, too fast.

If you need to create more than 7 threads a day you're doing it wrong. The spam filter shouldn't be removed if you're a Heroic member of above, as it belongs to everyone site-wide. You shouldn't be taking less than 30 seconds to make a new post. If you're only writing a few or so words, kick it up a notch and actually put some thought into it.

What about people who have more than one thread open, and type rather quickly?

  • 07.27.2011 12:42 PM PDT

-blam!- Was that actually blammed out? Or did I just type it? You'll never know.

The spam filter is the only thing between me and a forum full of my name. Clearly your thinking that higher member titles should be exempt from it is flawed reasoning.
