Personally, I've always pronounced it as "Sang-(Sang a Song)-He-(as in "he is cool")-Lee-(As in Leek without the 'k')-Sangheelee"

I chose this method because it was the first thing that came to mind the first time I ever saw the word "Sangheili".

Is it correct? Wrong? Help me out here. (Personally, I like it)

Sang-Heal-E

Sang as in "I sang a song"

Heal as in the heal of our feet.

E as in the letter.

I pronounce it the same.

  • 07.26.2011 4:00 PM PDT

It's pronounced San-(sand without a d)-gal-(like the beginning Galileo )-lee(like Bruce lee)

-Sangallee-

In Sangheili the -gh- is the beginning of a new syllable so it wouldn't be sang-, and the pronunciation of -gh- gives a longer -e- sound with a softer -g- like in ghost and the -li- is just pronounced -lee-

I used to pronounce it "San-gelly."

But I believe the proper pronunciation is "Sang-heal-E." E makes a long vowel sound.

I used to say "Sang-hay-lee". Close enough.

Having a lower jaw, should we even be able to say it correctly? Kind of like all those crazy words from Lovecraft's stories.

Signatures are for squares.

When I first read it I pronounced it "San-gelly"

But the proper pronunciation is "Sang-Heel-E"

I think the real question is how you pronounce Mgalekgolo, and Jiralhanae.

My interpretations:

Jirul-han-aye (accented u)
Muh-gah-lek-go-low

Jirulhanaye has been pronounced Serena in Halo Wars, and by the guy from the Waypoint videos.

Dunno about Mgalekgolo.

I see no other way to pronounce mgalekgolo. Jiralhanae is taken from a real korean word, apparently, which means big, stupid idiot. I always thought the ending was prounounced hah-nay.

Sang as in "I sang at the talent show last night" followed by heli as in "get to the attack heli."

I'm 23, I have a house, dog, girlfriend, job and I have no interest in any fanboyism so if you're thinking about sending me a childish PM, don't be surprised when I don't call back.

Sang-Hay-Lee

I know it's not technically right but that's how I say it.

  • 07.27.2011 1:55 AM PDT

I've always pronounced it SANG-hi-LEE

I'm a German speaker so where there's an ei it's pronounced "I" and I've always found it fits in the sangheili.

  • 07.27.2011 3:44 AM PDT

sang-hee-lee

  • 07.27.2011 4:36 AM PDT

i pronounce it sang-hell-ee

  • 07.27.2011 5:01 AM PDT

  • 07.27.2011 5:52 AM PDT

Jesus loves you! But I think you're a -blam!-

I always said it like Sang-Hell-E
