Subject: Adding Like button to a post.

So, I know this is a suggestion that has been asked before. I'm suggesting it because I see people that quote a post trying to say they agree with the persons post but instead of that maybe adding a Like system would be good?

It doesn't necessarily have to be Like, It could be thumbs up or any ideas you guys have.

Beside's that, I don't want this to be something like Facebook. So yeah. What do you guys think?

Case and point: don't worry about it. Girls start getting boobies pretty soon, and then you'll have plenty of other things to think about. Being an Inheritor is not a life goal.

Qbix would crash the site with so many likes.

No, then we will get "Youtube type" posts like

Thumbs up if____

Yeah, I had just thought about that. But there has to be a way for that not to happen?

  • 07.26.2011 11:29 PM PDT

It only takes a simple question to change everything.

It would lead to spam and abuse. I'm going to have to go with no.

How could you stop it though? People will still do that, and you can't exactly make a rule saying not to, that is just silly.

  • 07.26.2011 11:48 PM PDT

Well not a rule? Maybe just make it a + and a - sing? I think it would sound stupid saying "+ If you think ____"

All counter-arguments to evolution are based on a gross misunderstanding of the theory.

Reddit handles the Upvote/Downvote system well.

YouTube just gives it a bad rep.

cars, girls & cake all day everyday

Terrible idea, man. Especially for a place like this. Always will be.

I don't like this idea, I've seen it on several forums (vBulletin) and its okay but I like the forums the way they are.

I don't think it is necessary...

Their next game better have rocket boots!

I made that up.

I dunno if that's a good idea, some people would say "like my post please" just to get more likes, so no.

This isn't a facebook, less rather a social network.

"I don't care if it's God's own anti-Son of a -blam!- Machine or a giant hula-hoop!"

Abusable, and a select few would turn this into an unhealthy competition.

I'm neutral on this. On one hand, it would cut down on the people that quote employees and mods for no reason, but on the other hand, people would just use it as a competition.

I'd love to see how a like button plays out on these forums.

Dianna Agron is the epitome of perfection.

Quinntology.

I don't really see a point. If you like a certain post, just comment saying that you agree and add something in your own words. If you like a thread, save it.

It seems to me this website is more for information than entertainment, at least in the main forums. The "like" thing on entertainment websites is useful because that's part of why you go there; you want to see stuff that a lot of people agree is entertaining. Here, the most popular posts ("Cool story, bro," "cOLD," "Not sure if troll," "tl;dr," etc.) are the last ones you want to hear.

I think it'd be much more useful to have an OP be able to mark a reply as a "correct answer" like they do on tech support forums than to have a "like" option.

^See this?

This is Bnet's own form of "liking" a post. People will quote it. We don't need comment-threads, and we don't need up/down voting. I like filtering content based on majority-vote on things (as on Reddit) but I'd prefer my forums to act like forums.

  • 07.27.2011 9:42 AM PDT

Relax. I'd rather not piss this thing off.

-Master Chief

would this be a youtube or a facebook type of like I mean you could just put a poll in with one respawns saying "like".
