Master Cheif will find new enemies, hopefully some new friends, but what about the Cheif? I mean I hope there is somthing HE is trying to accomplish, not for because he's ordered to do it, but somthing he wants done!

Also I really hope they don't kill him. I mean when they killed Johnson it was kind of lame if you asked me. I thought it would've been awesome if the Chief, Arby and Johnson escaped together on the Warthog. I thought Miranda dying and Chief missing in space was dramatic enough. If I only saw an alien commando get out alive, I would've thought he killed them and got his out of their before he exploded; and made some sorry ass excuse that TWO badasses died, the two who killed countless to save humanity died, in one event.

If the Chief dies I probobly not look at the Halo story and saga of games the same. I mean, where would this trait of "luck" be if he died?

(PS: sorry for the wall of text, sorry China this one is mine)

Yeah. I wouldn't like it if they killed off the Chief.

I don't think he'll die. But I do think for some reason that he will be the only character alive at the end of the trilogy. Also, no offence, but I think it's pointless to wonder if he's gonna have something to accomplish, because it's obvious that he is gonna have a goal. Every game has it. :)

I think that it is going to be interesting that he's working off his own accord, and there's no one giving him orders. He also won't have the tactical support that he's had in the first 3 games. It could make for some interesting missions.

You know, you've actually got a point.

Why the hell does the UNSC just go "alright then" when they find out the Arbiter, an alien who only a few months ago was intent on their genocide, is the only survivor of a mission on which quite possibly the most important human asset and threat to non-humans was on, as well as an AI filled with data that could elevate humanity much higher than it is at present in the Haloverse?

I think it'd be more likely that there would be some serious finger pointing. Not Lord Hood saying "you have my thanks for staying with him until the end."

I'm hoping that the chief does die in the final game of the new trilogy, that will stop microsoft milking him endlessly.

this and it would be a good story element.

Have his luck run out, put him to rest with cortana.

We should know better, because we are better.

I actually hope that Chief will bite the dust with no one ever knowing what he did. I like those stories more. Hero saves the world by sacrificing himself but no one knows about it. I feel that it would be much more tragic and emotional. It would also give 343i a reason to explore new directions not involving the Chief.

If Chief survives this trilogy as well, my opinion of him will decrease from Lucky and Skilled Super soldier to Plot Armored Spartan. John can't live forever.

first of all if you saw the trailer you would know he is still alive but i hope they make a prequel to reach about the old noble 6 but as for halo 4 i hope he encounters the survivors from reach and johnson and they give a back story of how he survived and finds out UNSC is planning to betray him and he is on his own side along with the arbiter, reach survivors, cortana, and johnson and together they fight flood covenant UNSC and/or a new enemy that would make for an exciting story.

I think it has something to do with their ship being cut in half and possibly video recordings stored in the Dawn's main computer terminal. We know already that the ship's power is still operational on one side of the ship, why not the other?

We kill that which we do not understand...and then promptly tea-bag it.

Jeez...finally some people other than me realize that Chief dying would probably be for the best. Not that I want him to, I just wanna give the big guy some well deserved rest (and not get milked by greedy corporate execs.). I wonder if he'll discover a plethora of new information on humanity, the forerunners, flood, etc., just to die alone...that would be more lame than Johnson dying, but I suppose somebody's luck had to (finally) run out.

"I don't care if it's God's own anti-Son of a -blam!- Machine or a giant hula-hoop!"

I really want it to end similar to Halo 3. In my opinion, that was one of the best endings to a video game, ever. That should have been where the Master Chief saga ended, but I'll still go out and get Halo 4 and the likes.

There may very well have been finger pointing. The Arbiter was given a debriefing by ONI, but that is all we know. (One of the Adjuncts in the 2010 editions of First Strike) What Roberto says may also be true. Video recordings of the Hanger bay may have been active up until the Dawn was severed in two, thus revealing that MC was indeed alive up until that point.

Another thing overlooked in Halo 3's rushed plot.

Edit: I should also point out that the UNSC already obtained the information from Cortana after the events of First Strike. Everything she discovered about the Covenant's technology, and the information from Halo's Core is most likely in the UNSC's hands. The translation software that allows the UNSC to understand the Covenant during Halo 2 and beyond is a result of the Lexicon that Cortana developed during First Strike. It is obvious that they have all of Cortana's info.

Human survivors and Elite survivors got to Earth onboard Elite ship they had. Remember the cutscene before the level Halo?

Don't worry, you're still your mom's favorite Bnet member.

Chief should have died at the end of Halo 3. It was the perfect ending for Halo, or at the very least, Master Chief's story.

I have to agree; the Chief carrying on past Halo 6 (and GOD, I hate that name) will just make it feel stretched-out and thin. Hell, it's already beginning to feel so.

There are simply HUNDREDS of other game options out there in the Halo universe. I know a lot of people would enjoy a Covenant-themed game, or a tactical shooter based off of the ODSTs. Some people want to experience the Harvest campaign.

Either way, Halo isn't just the Chief. He's an important part of the universe, but 343i needs to realise the importance of the expanded universe and take a closer look at some of the unexplored stories out there.

That is quite a moving concept.

If he does survive, I suspect he won't be returning to mankind. His destiny will be to stand as protector to something, far from human controlled space.

343 is the team who are responsible for bringing the extended universe to life. I'm sure they already understand the importance of it, and they will explore other characters; and possibly other genres.
