Throughout most of Bungie's game, there is the faceless, often silent hero, he is present in Marathon, Halo, 2, 3, ODST, and there are two of such in Reach.

Is this Bungie's trademark? Is it what they are famous for? Crafting a character that anyone can connect with simply because they have no face, so the player can place themselves in their shoes?

If I'm not mistaken, that second paragraph nailed it right on the head.

Didact's Reprisal -
Now is the time of our unworlding
One final effort is all that remains
And I am not afraid
We shall fulfill our promise
We fight for the grace of the Mantle
And this time none of you will be left behind

Nah, Bungie is famous for "up" and "down." They brought vertical aiming to FPS games, after all.

Or maybe they're partly famous for what you said. Eh.

They do like the motif of a faceless hero. I prefer it over games with playable character dialogue because it often gets recycled and overused.

yes.

"I don't care if it's God's own anti-Son of a -blam!- Machine or a giant hula-hoop!"

They are not famous for the "faceless hero," but it does add to it. With someone who has little to no identity of their own, the player can feel as if they are the protagonist. That's also why Master Chief had little to no dialog. The more the player is immersed into the game, the more popular the game will be.

However, this is just one factor to their games. This is not the sole reason as to why they are famous. One of the largest reasons as to why they are famous, is because of their great community. (Us, :D)

That makes a lot of sense, so in gameplay terms they're famous for that?
